Pecan Pie

Everyone needs a classic Pecan Pie recipe in their back pocket! And this recipe from Southern Girls Desserts is as good as it gets.

Ingredients

  • 4 eggs + 1 egg beaten, for egg wash
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 cup corn syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • Pie crust, store bought or homemade
  • Cinnamon sugar
  • 2 cups pecans, chopped
  • Directions

    1) Preheat oven to 300 degrees Fahrenheit.

    2) In a large bowl, beat 4 eggs very well. Add sugar, corn syrup, vanilla extract, salt and flour. Mix until combined. Finally, stir in melted butter.

    3) Brush pie shell with egg wash and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar. Pour filling into pie shell and cover with chopped pecans.

    4) Bake for one hour, until filling is set and study. Allow the pie the cool completely before serving. Enjoy!
