Tiramisu Affogato

By Jenny Pham

If you’re looking for a pick me up but also an indulgent treat, look no further, affogato is exactly what you’re looking for. This Italian coffee-based dessert is essentially a deconstructed Frappuccino that may be one of the best things on this Earth. To paint a clearer picture, affogato is like an adult version of a root beer float – essentially a beverage paired with ice cream (what’s not to love?!). The contrast of the piping hot espresso poured over scoop(s) of gelato or ice cream is to die for.

To elevate this recipe, we are incorporating another coffee infused Italian dessert, tiramisu, which could take hours to make due to its elaborate layers and flavors. However, we’re skipping all of the fancy shmancy steps by throwing the ingredients into one cup and drizzling hot espresso all over it – easy peasy.

Trust us, this may be the best way to start your day. Say hello to your new morning routine!
