6 New Ways To Eat Those Thanksgiving Leftovers (Recipes)

By Cooking Panda

Another Thanksgiving has come and gone! If you had the pleasure of hosting loved ones, you probably breathed a sigh of relief after the last guest trickled out the door and you got to sit back and put your feet up after (hopefully) somebody in your household helped with cleaning duties.

If this sounds familiar, there’s a good chance that you have a mountain of leftovers sitting in your fridge at this very moment. I mean, has anyone ever finished off the homemade cranberry sauce? It seems like there’s always a massive portion left, which is actually a great thing because that sauce is absolute gold when you’re making sandwiches!

Should you happen to have waaay too much turkey and potatoes left over, here are a few dynamite things you can do with them:

1. Turkey Brie Grilled Cheese with Cranberry Mustard

You can totally use any type of cheese you want, but there’s something completely sublime about the creamy, earthy goo that is melted brie, especially when you pair it with a bit of savory-sweet condiments and bright thyme.

2. Leftover Stuffing Waffles

If you have too many mashed potatoes, rather than stuffing, you can also turn those into fluffy, savory waffles (recipe here). And whether you make potato or stuffing waffles, you can — and should — absolutely load them up with some melty sandwich ingredients like so.

3. Roasted Butternut Squash Spinach Dip

Spinach dip gets a much needed makeover with sweet caramelized onions, crunchy, smoky bacon, savory mushrooms and a few different kinds of cheese — plus you get the perfect excuse to use that butternut squash or sweet potatoes you haven’t finished yet. You can absolutely use any type of savory mash in here rather than cubed roasted veggies, too.

4. The Thanksgiving Leftovers Croque Madame

This fried sandwich is jammed full of cheesy gravy, crispy, salty prosciutto, fried eggs and a few other leftover veggies — and comes with an optional French toast version. It’s so darn near impossible to pass up that you might just catch yourself making it on the regular, even when you don’t have a whole roast turkey sitting in the fridge.

5. BLT Turkey Tacos With Cranberry Salsa

Crumbled, smoky bacon, fresh shredded lettuce and creamy chopped avocado bring a few new flavors to that same ol’ turkey you’ve been munching on for the last few days. Plus, you can turn your leftover cranberry sauce into salsa similar to the one in the recipe by mixing in some chopped cilantro, jalapeno, onion, apple, pear and a pinch of salt. Wow!

6. Thanksgiving Tater Tots With Dijon Gravy

These creamy loaded tots are perfectly customizable. For instance, if you don’t feel like preparing the veggies, you can just toss leftover stuffing on top for an extra carb load, and you can top with some extra cranberry sauce. If you have leftover mashed potatoes, you can even turn them into your own homemade tots (recipe here).

How To Make The Thanksgiving Sandwich From ‘Friends’ (Video)

By Cooking Panda

Have you ever heard of the YouTube channel Binging with Babish?

Run by Andrew Rea, the channel essentially posts videos of recipes that were inspired by foods or dishes in popular television shows and feature films. If you ever saw something on an episode of your favorite show and thought to yourself, “Dang. I would kill to eat that,” then you might want to head over to his channel — he might already have a video up showing you how!

We are most excited, however, about his brilliant decision to recreate Monica Geller’s famous “Moistmaker” Thanksgiving sandwich from an episode of the hit TV sitcom Friends.

Do you remember the Moistmaker? Basically, Monica assembled it out of stolen leftovers, and it famously landed Ross in anger management classes.

You’ll have to actually watch the episode to find out Ross’ ultimate fate, but until then, check out Rea’s video as it shows you just how you can make your own Moistmaker replica for yourself (below):
