Waffle Recipes Perfect For Your ‘Stranger Things’ Party
By Cooking Panda
“Stranger Things” is back! I repeat, “STRANGER THINGS” IS BACK! Well, almost. The Netflix show makes its triumphant return to your home theater on Oct. 27, and I am READY.
If you’ve been paying attention to the world at large, you probably know that “Stranger Things” is as good as it gets, and those kids are a gift to the world. And after the sci-fi series left us with a handful of unanswered questions, it’s finally time to return to the Upside-Down, check in with the Demogorgon and hopefully figure out exactly what happened to *ahem* that character.
If, like me, you’re going to be stress-eating, I highly recommend you have some snacks on hand for your marathon, so that you don’t end up losing it and pulling an Eleven in your local grocery store just to score some waffles.
Eleven may be an Eggo girl — and hey, there’s no shame in that — but you might want to step up your game a little.
Make some waffles of your own to celebrate the new season and also to make sure you are prepared for whatever crazy stuff they’re going to throw at us this season.
Note: Any of these waffles can be mini-fied for optimal snacking — either use a mini waffle maker or make regular-sized ones and slice them up with a pizza cutter.
How do you get fluffy, yeasty waffles without spending ages on your batter? Beer, of course! With a sweet, chocolaty stout and bold spices like cinnamon and cardamom, this sophisticated waffle is perfect for kids and grownups alike.
You don’t even need to make waffle batter for this sinfully scrumptious snack. A can of crescent rolls is the perfect match for fontina or Gouda cheese, crumbled bacon and bourbon maple syrup to top it all off.
In case the cold weather outside and chilling storylines on TV bum you out a little, this is the perfect summery pick-me-up.
If you make too many of any of these, fear not! Stale waffles make for delightful bread pudding. Waffles are truly the gift that keeps on giving.

This ‘Stranger Things’ Restaurant Menu Looks Awesome
By Cooking Panda
Do you miss biking around with Dustin, Mike, Lucas and Will? Are you hungrier than Eleven in a diner?
First of all, if this means nothing to you, get thee to Netflix and binge on “Stranger Things” as soon as possible so that we can talk. You won’t regret it.
Finished? Ok, good. Now that we’ve cleared that up, and you’re all aboard the #JusticeForBarb train with us, we’re here to tell you that there is so much you can do with your life while you wait for season two and nurture that empty spot in your heart.
You can start by eating your feelings with us. It will be an awesome feeling to eat by choosing from Stranger things restaurant menu.
Head over to London for a visit to Lucky Chip, a hip burger and beer-type spot that just unveiled a “Stranger Things”-themed menu that they will be serving for the entire month of October. And it looks so, so good!
At any of their four locations around the London area, you can order such offerings as the Demogorgon Burger, the Eggos Waffle Burger, Stranger Wings, the Up Fried Down and lots of other cool stuff that frankly looks pretty delicious.
Bonus: They also have a lot of cool-looking cocktails as well as a good-sized beer and wine menu, in case eating the Hopper Whopper gives you feelings that you don’t know how to deal with.
While you’re in town, you should also totally check out Strangest Things, a theme night that is touring around various nightclubs in England for the rest of October, according to Metro. If you make it to one of the special events, you can enjoy the fun ambiance created by strategically placed chopper bikes, way too many Christmas lights strung across the ceiling and a DJ playing 80s hit synth pop songs.
Oh, and there’s also a shrine to everybody’s favorite character who deserved so much more.
Can’t make it out to the UK? We feel you. Tide yourself over until a themed event comes your way by making this luscious Eggo waffle cocktail, because everyone knows that Eggos are pretty much the best thing ever (recipe here).Lucky Chip (2), Metro (2) / Photo credit: Lucky Chip via MetroTags: london, movie restaurant, stranger things, Stranger Things recipe, theme menu
Leggo Those Eggos! Kellogg Recalls Eggo Waffles Across 25 States
By Cooking Panda
Bad news for all the Stranger Things fans out there: If you were planning on dressing up as Eleven for Halloween, you might want to think twice.
On Sept. 19, Kellogg Company issued a voluntary recall on approximately 10,000 of its Kellogg’s Eggo Nutri-Grain Whole Wheat Waffles due to potential health risks.
So, you know, yeah: Leggo my Eggo! But then do me a favor and throw it in the trash.
The recalled Eggo waffles are said to have the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and individuals with weakened immune systems. While the company has received no reports of illness as of its Sept. 19 press release, it’s reassuring to know that it’s not taking any chances with its consumers’ health and safety.
Now, onto the formalities:
The recalled product was distributed to customers and retailers in 25 states (CO, CT, DE, GA, IA, IL, IN, KS, MA, MD, ME, MI, MN, MO, ND, NE, NH, NJ, NY, OH, PA, VA, VT, WI, WY). The affected product’s UPC code is 38000 40370, and it’s “Better If Used Before Date” is Nov. 21 and 22, 2017.
