Starbucks Is About To Start Serving Ice Cream
By Cooking Panda
This news has us seriously craving some summertime weather.
Most people who enjoy Starbucks typically rely on the chain for its different coffee and tea options, or a snack.
Now, however, customers can look forward to a new cool offering from Starbucks: ice cream. More than 100 Starbucks stores across the U.S. are gearing up to begin serving a classic Italian treat known as “affogatos.”
According to Business Insider, the coffee chain’s new Roastery Affogato menu is all slated to launch. Affogatos are created by pouring a steaming hot shot of espresso on top of a scoop of deliciously cold ice cream, resulting in a treat that is luxurious and ultra creamy.
Ten upscale Reserve bar locations in Los Angeles, Washington, D.C., and Boston are all set to begin serving the new Roastery Affogato menus, with options ranging from the $6 Classic Affogato all the way to the $8.50 Cold Brew Malt, which is made with small-lot cold brew, chocolate bitters and classic vanilla ice cream.
If shelling out more than $7 for a caffeine-laden ice cream treat seems a little too pricey, Starbucks has your back: The chain is going to test a somewhat less expensive affogato menu at 100 different traditional Starbucks locations in California.
Our guess is that if those affogatos, which won’t be made with small-lot coffee, turn out to be a hit with customers, the chain might consider rolling out the affogatos nationwide in the future, which has us very excited.
What do you think? Are you eager to try one of Starbucks’ new Italian-American drink-dessert hybrids? Or will you be sticking to your classic order and going to the local ice cream parlor to get your frozen dessert?affogato, coffee, coffee chain, Starbucks, starbucks roastery
