The Secret Starbucks Menu Has a Cadbury Creme Egg Frappuccino and We’re Here For It

You Can Now Order This Secret Menu Drink At Starbucks

By Cooking Panda

Let’s face it — when you’re a fan of something, you like knowing everything you can about it.

You like having all the intel, being able to answer little specific questions that nobody else can, and if you’re a fan of a food company or corporation, you probably like knowing about all of the secret drinks and food items that it offers, and ordering off of that secret menu whenever you like.

Of course, with the advent of social media, it’s easier than ever for people to get clued in on different chain’s secret menu items. For example, I’m pretty sure most people know that you can order your french fries “animal style” at In-N-Out Burger.

But when it comes to Starbucks, one fan-favorite beverage creation was shared so widely on social media that the chain decided to just go ahead and add it to its regular, not-secret menu, so that legions of coffee and tea drinkers could enjoy the concoction.

The drink, which is called either a “Medicine Ball” or a “Cold Buster,” according to Food and Wine, is a Venti-sized drink that features a bag of Jade Citrus Mint Tea as well as a bag of Peach Tranquility Tea, filled half-way up with hot water, and the other half with steamed lemonade. The drink is topped off with an optional pump of Starbucks’ peppermint syrup, and a drizzle of honey.

Sounds delish!

Basically, after a Starbucks store manager posted a photo on Instagram of the drink, he then reported that that 20+ of the drinks were being ordered a day at his location.

When other Starbucks locations reported similar numbers, the company decided to make the Medicine Ball a real thing, due to the extremely high demand at several locations.

Also, all of this usually takes months, but due to the Medicine Ball’s popularity, the drink became official in a single day.

Are you sufficiently curious, and do you want to try out the Medicine Ball’s healing effects for yourself, or will you stick to your standard Starbucks order when you next visit?

Say Hello To McDonald’s Chocolate Shamrock Shake

By Cooking Panda

When you hear about a “secret menu,” do you know what it means? The secret menu is made up of items that aren’t available on an actual menu, but are created in our heads and specially requested upon ordering. One such item was the Chocolate Shamrock Shake, in which the bottom of the shake is chocolate and the top is mint.

According to Brand Eating, McDonald’s has decided to take this secret menu item and create a whole line of actual menu items, mixing the shamrock mint flavor with classic chocolate drinks, like the frappe, hot chocolate and mocha drinks.

The fast-food chain is adding five new seasonal drinks to their menu at participating locations, so those of us who weren’t in on the secret can finally partake. Check your nearest McDonald’s to see if the drinks are available, but even if they aren’t, you can probably make a secret menu request. The drinks are as follows:

Classic Shamrock Shake — The Shamrock Shake we’ve all come to know and love already, but this time with added green sprinkles on top for a more glitzy look.

Chocolate Shamrock Shake — Chocolate on the bottom and mint on the top, for a minty chocolate treat with a chocolate syrup drizzle to top it off.

Shamrock Chocolate Chip Frappe — The mocha frappe blended with Shamrock Shake mint syrup and topped with whipped topping and chocolate drizzle for a nice peppermint mocha vibe.

Shamrock Hot Chocolate — Steamed milk, chocolate syrup and Shamrock Shake syrup. Basically, mint hot chocolate.

Shamrock Mocha — Chocolate syrup, espresso and steamed milk with Shamrock Shake syrup. Think Shamrock Chocolate Chip Frappe, only the hot version to warm you up.

Since we aren’t sure at exactly which locations these new drinks are available, you can always try making your own Shamrock Shake at home. Popsugar has a pretty convincing recipe. Just blend 2 cups of vanilla bean ice cream, 1/4 cup of half-and-half, 5 drops of peppermint extract, and green food coloring for about 30 seconds. Add chocolate syrup to make it like the Chocolate Shamrock shake and top it with whipped cream, sugar crystals and a cherry for the full effect. Voila! That should hold you over until your McDonald’s picks up the Shamrock drink line.

Say Hello To The Starbucks Purple Drink, The Latest Beauty Taking Over Instagram

By Cooking Panda

Just weeks after the Starbucks Pink Drink took over Instagram, a new secret menu item is making the rounds on our favorite social media site.

Fittingly named, the new “Purple Drink” is just as beautiful as its rose-hued cousin. According to Thrillist, the drink consists of iced Passion Tango tea, soy or coconut milk, vanilla syrup, and fresh blackberries.

While the Purple Drink isn’t technically on the official Starbucks menu, that hasn’t stopped it from taking over Instagram. Luckily, however, the coffee chain doesn’t seem too concerned about the enormous popularity of its off-menu items.

“Our customers are always trying out new ways to customize their favorite drinks—Purple Drink is a perfect example of that!” Starbucks said in a statement. “We’re blown away with the reaction on social media—while this isn’t an official Starbucks drink, it’s created a lot of fandom online. If customers would like to order a beverage that is not listed on our menu, we recommend they know the recipe so that their barista can handcraft the beverage perfectly for them.”

So there we have it! Scroll through the gorgeous images of the Purple Drink that we’ve collected below, and then head to your local Starbucks to try it out for yourself. Now that you know the recipe for the Purple Drink, you can start brainstorming your own secret menu items—you never know if they might make you into an Instagram star!
