Don’t Judge This Man For His Fried Food Order! (Photo)

By Cooking Panda

Don’t even think about judging this man for his mozz!

When you’ve ever had a bad day, sometimes a little comfort food is in order — or perhaps a lot of it. At least, that was one man’s reasoning when he decided to order three entire servings of fried mozzarella sticks, as well as a serving of fried pickles.

The person who placed the order in question not only was hungry, but apparently he anticipated receiving some backlash or judgment from the employees at Fresco’s Fish and Chips, the establishment where he was placing his comfort food order.

So he decided to nip that possibility right in the bud!

“Yes – I meant to order 3 mozzarella sticks,” a Redditor who works at Fresco’s wrote, posting the photo of the customer’s receipt on the website. “Please don’t judge me. I’m having a bad week and was so excited they were back on the menu.”

The post on Reddit has garnered more than 25,800 reactions as of March 8, so hopefully the person who ordered the mozzarella sticks and pickles can see the support he’s getting online and find solace in the fact that everybody is super into his sass and his food preferences.

Now we’re craving some fried comfort food ourselves!

This Is Definitely The Craziest Starbucks Order Ever

By Cooking Panda

First of all, I want to say I’m pretty sure this drink order is a joke. Having said that, it brings up a valid point. It is an example of just how picky and difficult some customers want to be. I say want because I think you’d only order a drink like this out of a desire to be difficult.

We’ve all been in line behind them at some point, the customers who want to “show off” how much they know about coffee and about all the different ways to order a drink. A Reddit user shared this picture from a friend who works at Starbucks, and the drink order covers two stickers going down the side of the cup. Fabulous.

If you’re one of these customers, and you didn’t know how baristas feel about this, please take note. It’s just simply not nice. One Redditor brings up a very interesting point, something I’ve often wondered myself: How do customers “ever figure out that that’s how they like their ‘coffee’ in the first place? Like what series of events occurs that you find out you like exactly 6 sugars and 3 Splenda, along with 2 cream, 1 skim, and 2 ice cubes?” Please, someone tell me the answer to this, because I’m dying to know!

This is more than just an issue for Starbucks baristas; it’s an issue for customer service people in general. As someone who spent five years waiting tables to get through college, I’ve seen my fair share of unnecessarily difficult orders. I’d bet that pretty much everyone in the food service industry has at least one aggravating story.

Redditors go on to contemplate what it is that makes people want to order things like, a Grande vanilla bean Frappuccino with heavy cream, half-soy Lactaid milk in a Venti cup without ice or water and with honey and extra caramel drizzle … tired yet? Some believe it’s an ego thing, a source of pride for the customer. Others believe it’s a desire for that customer to show that he/she knows coffee. I’ll let you in on a little secret though — baristas think it’s cool if you drink your coffee black.

Kiddie Menu At Deli Is Hilarious And Too Relatable

By Cooking Panda

As a former very picky eater, I salute the genius who came up with this menu (and send my condolences to everybody I frustrated during my childhood years).

If you, or anybody you know, had a tough time deciding what to eat when dining out as a child, then this brilliant menu by casual food joint Front Street Deli is sure to resonate with you. Basically, rather than try to coax out a direct answer from it’s kiddie diners, the restaurant has instead cleverly designed a menu that gives children something to eat, whether they know they ordered it or not.

Like many kids menus, Front Street Deli’s offerings feature staples like hot dogs, grilled cheese, french fries, and chicken tenders. However, they’re listed under those insufferable phrases kids use when they’re feeling uncooperative.

Check out the photo one Reddit user posted of the menu:

Your kid can order the “I Don’t Care” for $4.00 (which is actually just chicken tenders and fries), or even the “I’m Not Hungry” (grilled cheese and fries) for fifty cents less. There’s also the “I Don’t Want That” and the “I Don’t Know,” all for less than $5, which sounds like a deal to me.

Restaurant Gloriously Messes Up Customer’s Coffee-With-Bailey’s Order

By Cooking Panda

Not all of us are at our best in the mornings.

In fact, so many of us take some time before we’re functional that society has even given us terms to excuse our less-than-ideal A.M. behaviors. How many times have you heard somebody say that they’re just “not a morning person?”

Perhaps that’s why so many people rely on caffeine to kickstart their brains into gear upon waking. Some of us use coffee to heighten our awareness; some of us use it to take the edge off.

And some of us end up using it to go viral on Reddit after our baristas make a hilarious error.

When Reddit user Rios93 ordered a cup of coffee with Bailey’s at a restaurant, he was anticipating receiving a comforting, warm cup of alcohol-spiked java.

Instead, however, the poor man was given this:

Yeah. That’s coffee with bay leaves, not Bailey’s Irish Cream.

Can you imagine the bizarre exchange that must have happened when that confused server brought that order back to the kitchen?

“I just can’t understand it… he ordered coffee with a side of leaves.”

“Shut up, Jared, the customer is always right.”

At any rate, it seemed the server had some inkling that the order was off, as he opted to put the leaves on the side as a sort of garnish, rather than infuse the coffee with them directly.

One Reddit User Found An Ingenious Way To Create A Makeshift Mini-Fridge

By Cooking Panda

With the use of an ironing board, an air conditioner, and a bit of ingenuity, a Redditor created a mini-fridge to chill leftover food.

After eating most of a pizza, Redditor Jblair814 had a problem that many of us have experienced while staying in a hotel room.

“Ahh the old dilemma,” the Redditor wrote. “Only a few slices left after my shameful late-night hotel layover bingefest.  Do I eat them and feel like a worse human? Nay. I save them and have an even more shameful breakfast. Enter the problem: how to keep them cool without a mini-fridge? Solution to follow…”

To begin, a hard surface and a cooling device was needed to create the make-shift mini-fridge. In this case, an ironing board and an air conditioner did the trick.

Next, the ironing board was adjusted to an “optimized height,” right in the middle of the air conditioning duct.

Jblair814 needed to ensure that the food received “maximum input” from the cooling duct, along with “vacuum pressure to draw the cooling.” This required creating a hole in the back of the pizza box.

Although the pizza box fit onto the duct “like a glove,” an essential finishing touch was needed to ensure the leftover pizza was fit to eat the next day. Specifically, the make-shift mini-fridge was in need of “a make-shift filter to prevent the lint and … infested air from contaminating my high quality gourmet dish.”

A clean washcloth from the hotel seemed to do the trick.

“BOOM,” Jblair814 concluded. “Doneskie. Cool all night and ready to heat for breakkie.”

Fellow Redditors responded with a mixture of praise, criticism, and advice, as they tend to do.

“Or.. You could just not refrigerate the pizza,” wrote one Redditor. “Pizza stays good for like 2 weeks out of the fridge. Anyone in college will confirm.”

“My mind went right to the lint and … infested air until I got down to your filter,” another said. “Bangup job, sir.”

“The airflow would leave the pizza dehydrated, when you reheat it, put a cup of water with it,” advised one user.

“Still, it wasn’t less than 41 degrees,” wrote a fourth. “Eating it is if-y, at best. There’s a lot of moisture in pizza, good for growing bad stuff. Still, good job improvising!”

Brilliant Restaurant Color Codes Brownies Based On Where They Were Baked

By Cooking Panda

We live in a diverse world full of differing preferences, and shockingly for those of us with a sweet tooth, this can even span to desserts.

Some people prefer pie; some cookies; others feel satisfied after a simple piece of fruit. But while I have grudgingly come to accept that some people just don’t like dessert, what I do still believe in is this: When it comes to eating cake or brownies, everybody has a slice preference.

The most common example of this phenomenon at play is at a child’s birthday party; the kid who’s aging always gets to choose their slice first, and they always choose a corner piece. Why? Because of the frosting.

But the art of choosing your brownie piece is more refined, more delicate. And that is why the folks selling brownies over at Philly Style Steaks & Subs have gone viral for their innovative brownie-coding system.

On August 1, Reddit user longboard116 posted a photo that made it to the website’s front page, spurring various commenters to exalt the Philly Style Steaks crew for its ingenious marketing.

“My faith in American innovation has been restored,” exclaimed one commenter, while plenty of others proceeded to pledge and defend their particular brownie allegiances.

I’d go for a green dot myself, personally, but brownie-hierarchies aside, I think we can all agree upon the beauty that is the Philly Style Steaks & Subs sorting system.

Matt Damon Describes His Ideal Taco On Reddit, And It’s Amazing

By Cooking Panda

Finally, some important news!

Thanks to a Reddit “Ask Me Anything” (AMA) session on July 19, we are now privy to a slew of new, fascinating information about Matt Damon, spanning from his bromance with Ben Affleck to his favorite type of taco.

After Damon answered a variety of non-taco related queries, one Reddit user finally got down to business, asking the 45-year-old actor: “What are the ingredients of your ideal taco?”

And Damon delivered:

The ingredients of my ideal taco, oh my god. Fantastic question. My ideal taco is actually the taco I’m not supposed to have which is the taco we have on taco night at my house. It’s the crunchy corn shell with the good meat, just ground beef in there. It’s all about the layering. The meats gotta be hot, and the cheese goes on first so that it melts. And then you’re gonna get in there with a little bit of tomato and lettuce but not too much cause it’s not a salad, it’s a taco, and then you’re gonna throw some avocado on top and some sour cream and then a bunch of cholula. I don’t know if you know what cholula hot sauce is but it’s the best. Throw a bunch of cholula on there, maybe squeeze some lime on top, and go to town.

Upon reading his response, fans flocked to the AMA to shower Damon with support on his answer.

“Now that’s how you answer a question about tacos,” one Redditor wrote.

“Holy taco,” responded another. “Matt Damon’s AMA is the best in awhile….a huge paragraph just on he likes his f******* tacos. I love this guy.”

“Your comment on tacos not being salads has likely impacted me more than anything else in the past decade,” lauded another user, a sentiment I am inclined to agree with.

As an added bonus, Damon also decided to give his two cents over the hotly contested debate: Are hot dogs really hot dogs, or are they secretly just sandwiches?

“I’ve never considered a hot dog a sandwich because a hot dog is a hot dog,” he wrote. “I mean technically it comes between 2 pieces of bread or one fold it into two, so I guess you can classify it as a sandwich. Then what would you call it, a hot dog sandwich? That’s like a hat on a hat so let’s just keep it as a hot dog.”

Touche, Matt Damon.

This Tomato Vine Looks Like A Person — Do You See It?

By Cooking Panda

A photo of an unusual-looking tomato on the vine has surfaced, and it has taken the internet by storm. Take a look:

The photo was posted to Reddit by user AlwaysDefenestrated in October 2012 but has been catching a ton of attention recently. Some people think the tomato looks like an Ent from Lord of the Rings, while others say that it resembles Fiddlesticks from League of Legends. Personally, we think it looks a bit like Groot from Guardians of the Galaxy.

“Genius,” wrote tidder112. “If you picked the wrong tomato at the wrong time, you would never have seen this.”

AlwaysDefenestrated responded, naming the unusual fruit “MC ‘mato foot” and saying that it is “looking for a record deal…trying to promote hip hop in the grocery-core community while expanding vegetable rights in the modern world.”

For some reason, tomatoes can never seem to escape the limelight of controversy. We’re still perplexed by the fruit-vegetable debate, of which this food has blurred the lines. Tomatoes are classified as a fruit, but did you know that they are taxed as vegetables?

Not long ago, a fruit importer brought a lawsuit to the U.S. Supreme Court, complaining that imported tomatoes are subject to a 10 percent vegetable import tax, even though the juicy, lycopene-packed food is scientifically considered a fruit, according to NPR.

In front of the justices, witnesses read dictionary definitions for “fruit,” “vegetable,” “tomato,” “pea,” cucumber,” and many other potentially controversial fruits, vegetables and legumes.

However, the Supreme Court ultimately decided that science and daily life were at odds, saying that vegetables are “usually served at dinner in, with, or after the soup, fish, or meats … and not, like fruits generally, as dessert.” In other words, functionally-speaking, tomatoes are vegetables. More importantly, the importer was not relieved from paying the vegetable tariff on specimens like MC ‘mato foot.

Baker Loses Glasses, Found In Bottom Of Baked Good (Photo)

By Cooking Panda

On April 6, Redditor MyLoveBox posted a picture of a delicious-looking golden brown loaf with a hilarious surprise.

“Baker lost something…wonder he noticed or not,” the redditor posted.

In the photo, a pair of glasses, presumably belonging to the baker, can be clearly seen baked into the bottom of the loaf.

“Same as those poor people who were turned into brick blocks in Mario,” said lurkerthowaway845.

Although the glasses held up well against the heat of the oven, the lenses slightly melted and some redditors have noticed there appears to be no nose pads.

“Hmm, can’t really see the little parts that lay on the bridge of your nose, unless this is an all metallic frame that is already contoured for the wearer’s nose,” observed Wiknetti. “The lenses definitely melted, I just noticed the little droops on the upper part of the lenses. The frame still looks like it’s in good shape though!”

Some comments admitted their own mishaps with glasses, and the possibility that the baker may indeed have no clue where they are.

“Dropped glasses hanging from my button downs and polos all the time, without hearing them fall this Baker didn’t have a clue where his/her glasses went!” said NagNella.

Throughout the thread, redditors had a blast coming up with any bread-related pun they could manage.

“Wow he must have a lot of money to just throw away glasses,” said The_Jizzbot. “He must be rolling in dough. Or maybe he did not knead them.”

“Way to rise to the occasion!” wrote ThatMotherFluxer. “This guy sure knows how to make a spectacle out of his product – but without these glasses he may get a headache and need some ibuloafen.”

If nothing else, the humor in this situation has been definitely appreciated by fellow redditors.

“It’s the yeast they can do to keep comments good,” said HTGeorge10.

Second Grader’s Mom Brings Strange Cookies To Class, Gets Mad When Teacher Won’t Serve Them

By Cooking Panda

The parent of a second grade student brought some very questionable cookies to her child’s class recently. The cookies were so strange that someone in the class couldn’t help but share the story behind them on reddit.

Posting on behalf of the teacher, reddit user JPstudly writes that the teacher asks a volunteer parent to bring snacks in for her students each week to reward good behavior. This week, a parent going by the pseudonym Autumn volunteered to bake some cookies and bring them to the class. When Autumn delivered the cookies, she told the teacher to use them as an opportunity to teach her students about vaginas. What do cookies have to do with vaginas? Our teacher was about to find out. Here’s what happened next.

“Baffled and completely caught off guard I slowly peel the aluminum foil off the pan to behold a plethora of sugar cookie and frosting vaginas,” the teacher writes. “Not just any old vagina, but ALL KINDS OF VAGINAS. There were small, puffy, white, brown, shaved, bald, and even a fire crotch with beef curtains. Perplexed, I give the parent the most professional look I can muster and quietly reply ‘I’m sorry Autumn, but I can’t give these to my students. This just isn’t appropriate.’”

That’s when things got ugly.

Autumn snapped back and said the teacher “should be proud of [her] vagina,” and accused her of “settling for woman’s role in life.” Mind you, all of this happened in front of the students.

The teacher says she had no choice but to “stand and stare at the woman as the word ‘vagina’ is yelled in front of my second grade class about 987,000 times. Finally after what seemed like an eternity, she storms out of the class leaving her vagina cookies on my desk.”

Later that night, the teacher received a scathing email from Autumn. In it, Autumns says the teacher is “closed minded” and “settled for less when you became a teacher because that is known for a women’s job.” She says that women need to stand together and “inform people about the vagina and how to please it.” She closes the email by saying “I hope you end up with an abusive husband that beats on you every night.”

Want to see Autumn’s full email in all of its fury? Here it is:
