Outback’s 3-Point Bloomin’ Onion Is A Total Monstrosity (Photo)

This is just too much, Outback. Too much!

If you are a fan of Outback Steakhouse and dine there on the regular, chances are that you have ordered the chain’s iconic appetizer, the Bloomin’ Onion, at least once.

Basically, it’s the mother of all bar food. Outback takes a gigantic onion, fries it, and cuts it into the shape of a blooming flower, which you then dip into some sort of creamy and fatty sauce.

Long story short: The Bloomin’ Onion is not good for you. But many find it irresistibly delicious.

And because of that, Outback has apparently decided to one-up itself, and so it has released its newest menu item, the 3-Point Bloomin’ Onion, in honor of March Madness.

“Just in time for March Madness, Outback has created the 3-Point Bloomin’ Onion: Outback’s Signature Bloomin’ Onion topped with Loaded Aussie Cheese Fries [fries with melted Monterey Jack and Cheddar, and chopped bacon] and bites of juicy, seasoned center-cut sirloin steak,” an Outback representative told For The Win.

This is a heart attack on a platter, folks.

You will be able to order the 3-Point Bloomin’ Onion for $12.99 all the way through April 4, 2017, at participating Outback Steakhouse locations — but that doesn’t really mean you should, considering just one 3-Point appetizer clocks in at more than 3,000 calories.

Outback Steakhouse Has A New Bloomin’ Onion

The world of glorious, over-the-top, fried monstrosities is about to get a whole-lot cheesier. And baconier. And ranchier. And French fryier. Basically everything-ier.

If you’re anything like our favorite foodie celebrity, Chrissy Teigen, you love Outback Steakhouse’s Bloomin’ Onion—a massive plate of fried onion pieces arranged in the shape of a flower and practically begging to be shared. According to People, however, the already outrageous appetizer is about to get a whole lot crazier.

Starting on June 21, Outback will offer an upgraded version of the Bloomin’ Onion. Named the “Loaded Bloom,” this new Franken-food will consist of a classic Bloomin’ Onion topped with spicy ranch, bacon, and the chain’s Aussie Cheese Fries.

Unsurprisingly, the Loaded Bloom contains more than a day’s worth of energy, clocking in at an astonishing 2,360 calories.

For obvious reasons, we suggest sharing Outback’s Loaded Bloom. However, if it sounds like something that you’d enjoy, you’re in luck! It turns out that the over-the-top food is part of a larger campaign by the chain. According to an Outback Steakhouse representative, “The new Aussie-tizer was inspired by Outback’s upcoming, limited time ‘Big Australia’ menu which features bigger, Aussie-sized portions.”

While the choice to introduce the larger, more-caloric portion sizes seems like a strange way to upgrade a menu, we can’t say that we’re not intrigued by the Loaded Bloom. Head to your local Outback Steakhouse anytime after June 21 to check it out for yourself!
