Starbucks Debuts New Iced Teas, Get Them For Free! (Photo)

Iced tea lovers, Starbucks has a special treat just for you!

On July 11, the worldwide coffee chain debuted three new fruity spins on iced tea, and the best part is they are here to stay for good, so you won’t need to mourn when your favorite limited-time drink special disappears. (Rest in peace, Caramelized Honey Latte.) Oh, and you can get them for free for exactly one hour!

According to PopSugar, you can now cool off with Teavana Shaken Iced Tea Infusions, which come in three new flavors: pineapple black tea, peach white tea and strawberry green tea. The drinks are made up of Teavana teas combined with steeped fruit and botanical mixes and usually get shaken with simple syrup, although you can request them unsweetened or even mixed with lemonade or anything else you prefer.

The drinks start at $3 for a Tall, and you can even get a free one on July 14 between 1 p.m. and 2 p.m., so mark your calendars.

Are they worth it? How do they taste?

The folks over at PopSugar sampled the new brews and had generally positive feedback.

“The Teavana Shaken Iced Peach Citrus Tea Infusion is light and fruity and perfect to sip on all day,” they wrote. “The peach flavor is subtle but present and is only enhanced when the tea is lightly sweetened, which is how it’s typically served.”

The Teavana Shaken Iced Pineapple Black Tea Infusion, however, is much stronger and “bolder” than the peach, they said, and the pineapple tastes “authentic” and not like that fake stuff, suggesting that they probably brewed it with real pineapple.

“The Teavana Shaken Iced Strawberry Green Tea Infusion has a surprising flavor because of the green tea, which has hints of mint,” added the reviewers. “The mint combined with the sweet, tart strawberry is the bold kick in the pants you might need on a day when you’re hot and dragging.”

The teas are part of a larger menu expansion that ‘Bux rolled out on the same day, including the Iced Cascara Coconutmilk Latte and the Iced Coconutmilk Mocha Macchiato, notes Refinery29.

You Need To Know About Oreo’s Newest Cookie Flavor (Photo)

category:

By Cooking Panda

Allegedly joining the ranks of limited-edition Oreos is a cookie flavor more reminiscent of autumn — and more downright American — than any variety to hit shelves before.

It’s the apple pie Oreo, ladies and gentlemen (photo below).

Apple pie will be the latest pie-turned-Oreo when these debut in advance of Labor Day. What other pies should become Oreos? ??

A photo posted by JunkBanter.com ???????? (@junkbanter) on

Food Instagrammer JunkBanter.com somehow got wind of the new treat and posted a photo of the packaging online. The caption did not reveal any information beyond that it will available before Labor Day next year — or a source of any kind — but we’ll remain optimistic, since America’s favorite pie transformed into America’s favorite cookie sounds pretty dang fabulous.

We don’t have any clues about ingredients, but we suspect the Oreo will involve an apple-pie creme filling with spicy cinnamon notes, sandwiched between two sweet vanilla cookies.

We won’t get to taste these Oreos until next September — if we get them at all — so while it’s a bit early to imagine their flavor composition, it’s a great time to plan how best to enjoy them.

Like with a holiday cookie-eating party, obviously. Grab a silver platter and artfully festoon it with seasonal Oreos, such as apple pie, pumpkin spice, cool mint and gingerbread flavors. Make sure everyone has a full glass of milk for dunking purposes. Proceed to go to flavor town. When the fun is done, promptly put on fuzzy socks and a sweatshirt, and nap for several hours.

Another enticing option is to incorporate the apple pie Oreos into delicious fall desserts, such as apple pie ice cream cake or snicker doodles stuffed with apple pie Oreos.

The possibilities are endless. Stay tuned for any updates on the new Oreo, and in the meantime, snack on the brand’s newest delight: Oreo candy bars. Yep, you read that right.

These New Doritos Will Blow Your Mind (Photos)

category:

By Cooking Panda

If you’re a Doritos fan, you might want to be sitting down for this one.

Your favorite chips are getting a massive makeover — on the inside. Sure, Doritos Locos tacos are great, but why stop there? Why not create something truly craveable and nasty in all the right ways? Fortunately, somebody did.

Introducing Doritos Loaded:

These monstrously delicious snacks that are half nachos and half mozzarella sticks will be available in a grocery store near you very soon, according to Delish.

You might have seen (or even tried) these giant stuffed chips at 7-Eleven back in 2014 or at Burger King in 2015, when the company was testing them out, but now you can pick up a box and make them at home. Not only are they probably cheaper than getting them out, but you’ll also save yourself the embarrassment of having to ask the store clerk to grab those super unhealthy, possible self-loathing snacks from the hot-food window for you. Oh, and they’ll be fresh and crispy, not soggy and dry from sitting on the hot tray for probably hours on end.

Starting on Nov. 6 — National Nachos Day — you’ll be able to pick up boxes upon boxes of this stuff (hey, you might as well stock up, right?) at grocery stores around the nation. You’ll have two options: Nacho Cheese (the flavor you might have encountered in the past) and Jalapeno Cheese, both of which have crispy, cheesy Doritos crusts and are filled with gooey, melted cheese.

The folks over at Delish gave them a try and said the cheesy triangles may not be perfect, but they are pretty darn close, and they recommend them. The best part? The super-crunchy outer crust.

“Though the centers weren’t as gooey as we’d hoped, you get a good amount of cheese inside and the flavor of crushed Doritos in the breading,” wrote Delish’s Hannah Doolin. “The Jalapeno Cheese were definite favorites, with real pieces of jalapeno inside and a serious kick that we loved.”

It certainly sounds like an improvement on the ones straight out of 7-Eleven’s warming plate, which Julie Alvin of Bustle once described as “lukewarm, mushy, and felt like an old chicken nugget to the touch.”

Let us know if you give them a try!

The New M&M’s Caramel Flavor Is Coming!

category:

By Cooking Panda

One of the best things about M&Ms is that they just keep on smashing it with consistently well-executed new flavors.

By now, we’ve all tried (and fallen in love with) the original, milk chocolate variety; but there are also mini, peanut, peanut butter, almond, crispy, pretzel, coffee nut, and more M&Ms out there, ready to be savored.

And now, for the first time in M&M’s 75-years of history, CNN reports that a caramel filling is breaking in to the M&M scene, and is slated to become a permanent flavor of the M&M family beginning in May 2017.

The new offering will be called M&M’s Caramel, with each bite-sized candy coming filled with a soft and chewy caramel center encased in milk chocolate. Predictably, the chocolate will be coated in a crunchy, colorful shell.

According to the vice president of research and development of Mars Chocolate (M&M’s parent company), Hank Izzo, this new creation has been a long time coming.

“Caramel is extremely trendy,” he told CNN. “It’s a $2.2 billion flavor segment and the fastest growing segment in food right now. We want to be part of this category.

“It was a big technological challenge for us,” Izzo continued. “We never before had a M&M lentil with a true soft center, so we had to figure out how to not make the chocolate too sticky or too soft that it could collapse.”

“Because it is a brand new production, we’re still in the process of finishing the manufacturing setup for the caramel M&M’s,” finished Izzo.

We cannot wait for May of next year, but in the meantime, we’ll just have to satisfy ourselves with watching this mouthwatering preview of the candies below:
