Oreos And Dunkin’ Donuts To Release New Mocha Oreos (Photo)
By Cooking Panda
If you keep current with Oreo-updates in the slightest, then you may have already realized that no matter how hard you try, you’ll probably never be able to catch up and taste all of the flavors before the company pumps out a new one to taste.
It seems like every day Oreos releases a new variety for fans to sample, and today is no different, because the Instagram user Junk Banter revealed on April 14 that Oreos has teamed up with Dunkin’ Donuts to release … Mocha Oreos!
Did anybody else’s mouth just start watering? Wait: I already know they did, because as of April 17, more than 9,000 users have liked the photo of the soon-to-be-released Oreos; additionally, the post has racked up more than 420 (har dee har) comments.
Wake up and smell some new Oreos!! Here's a much better look at the Dunkin Donuts Mocha Oreos that I talked about last year. I'm showing a release in July just after Jelly Donut, but as always: you didn't hear it from me, and don't listen to me ever. They're comin' though. Fun fact that this isn't the first Coffee Oreo. If you have an Oreo fetish like I do, you might remember Double Delight "Coffee & Creme" Oreos from way back yonder.
“Wake up and smell some new Oreos!!” the Instagram post reads. “Fun fact that this isn’t the first Coffee Oreo. If you have an Oreo fetish like I do, you might remember Double Delight ‘Coffee & Creme’ Oreos from way back yonder.”
Coffee & Creme? Suddenly I find myself wishing for an Oreo Renaissance; I want to taste test all of the flavors that have since been retired! Does Oreos have a flavor graveyard, like ice cream giant Ben & Jerry’s does? Hmm….
Anyway, the Instagram post also suggests that these coffee-chocolate-caffeine-flavored cookies will likely be released in July 2017 for a limited time, so that means you don’t have long to wait to give them a try.
Going by the photo on the package, the iced mocha really makes this flavor look summer appropriate. It also appears to be suggesting the new coffee-inspired Oreos will feature the brand’s classic chocolate wafer cookies with some sort of Dunkin’ Donuts mocha-flavored creme filling. Drool.
What do you think? Are you excited to get your hands on these new Oreos?

The New Oreos Are As Sweet As Apple Pie (Photo)
By Cooking Panda
Yes, yes, yes!
Look, I know that Oreo is at this point ubiquitous for churning out new flavor after new flavor at, like, an alarmingly prolific rate, but that doesn’t stop me from going super extra with my excitement every time it happens. It doesn’t matter that there are so many flavors out there that I doubt I’ll ever be able to sample them all; I like that challenge.
And let’s be real: Can you ever seriously have enough Oreo variety in your life? I don’t think so, which is why this new announcement comes as a welcome surprise to me, and I’m sure to the legion of fellow Oreos fans out there.
According to the Instagram user The Junk Food Aisle, the next new Oreo flavor slated to hit the shelves is the Apple Pie-flavored Oreo, and I for one can’t wait. It seems like the perfect treat to enjoy as the weather really begins to start heating up.
“Coming Soon! Limited Edition Apple Pie Oreo! Featuring a graham flavored cookie, these Oreos should be out this summer,” they wrote on their Instagram post.
What a genius move by the Oreo flavor-makers (is there an official job for the people who taste test and suggest new flavor combinations of Oreos? And if so, where do I send my application?) to nix the traditional chocolate wafer in lieu of the golden one, which is bound to pair magnificently with an Apple Pie-inspired filling.
The packaging on the Instagram post seems to suggest that, like many of its predecessors, the Apple Pie Oreo flavor is a limited edition product, so I suggest you all try to snag yourselves a box of these beauties before Oreo pulls them from the shelves and you’ll be forced to purchase them online.

You Need To Try Carrot Cake Kiss Chocolates! (Photo)
By Cooking Panda
Hershey’s has come out with a new seasonal treat, and it’s not what you’d expect. These Hershey’s Kisses are made to taste like carrot cake!
Foodbeast reports that the candies are available at stores nationwide, and taste just like the cake’s frosting. They’re even orange!
Hershey’s spokesperson, Lauren Aardewijn, told BuzzFeed that these Carrot Cake Kisses “honestly taste just like carrot cake,” and that they are “smooth with a light cream cheese-like filling in the center.” As delicious as that might sound to some of us, I worry that there aren’t enough carrot cake fans for this new item to truly be appreciated. Many are taking to social media to express mixed reviews.
Some find it to be a bad idea …
Because those 8 people who like carrot cake all work for Hershey's? https://t.co/ns2Ldzzdve

Some don’t know what to think …

While others are stoked!
Is "carrot cake" the "pumpkin spice" of spring? I hope so! @Hersheys now has carrot cake flavored Kisses! I need these in my life!
— Deana Ryan (@DeanaRyanRadio) February 16, 2016
However you feel about it, you should know that Hershey’s won’t be upset. “Whenever you develop a new product you’re going to have people who love it and people who aren’t going to like it,” said Aardewijn. “On a personal note, carrot cake wasn’t something I thought I really wanted to try. But it’s a little bit of a surprising flavor!”
You have to admit, out of all the cake flavors, carrot cake doesn’t ever sound like the most tempting, or the most mouth-watering. It sounds like your vegetables in cake form. However, it’s actually pretty delicious! If you haven’t tried it, now might be the time to give it a try. Perhaps, as the person says in the Tweet above, it could very well be the pumpkin spice of spring. You wouldn’t want to miss out on that, would you?
Check for this fun new flavor at participating Target stores soon! They won’t be around for long. You can find them in 9-ounce bags through the Easter season, or according to Aardewijn, while supplies last.Carrot Cake, Hershey's, Hershey's Kisses, limited edition, seasonal
M&M’s Newest Limited Edition Flavor Is Strawberry Nut
By Cooking Panda
What in the world would we do without the magnificent candy sleuth Instagram account called Candy Hunting?
Without them we would not even know that there is, in fact, big news out in the chocolate world, folks — namely that M&M’s has just released a brand spanking new flavor that looks absolutely delicious and is available at both Walmart and RiteAid.
Introducing: The Strawberry Nut M&M’s, which is similar to last year’s limited-time Chocolate Covered Strawberry M&M’s flavor, only now has had an update and comes stuffed with peanuts.
“There’s a new addition to the flavored Peanut M&M’s lineup! Found these new Strawberry Nut M&M’s at Walmart!” reads the Candy Hunting Instagram post, which has received more than 3,700 likes as of March 7, 2017.
“Looks yummy, do they have a pb&j vibe?” one user asked, which is honestly our question too. M&M’s is constantly coming out with new flavors to appeal to the masses, and sometimes they are a hit, while other times they are a huge flop.
The thing is, nobody knows just how long these babies are going to stay on shelves. We can see by the packaging that the Strawberry Nut M&M’s are a limited-edition flavor, so head on over to a RiteAid or a Walmart near you ASAP in order to taste test the new flavor before they’re all sold out or potentially no longer sold at all!
Are you excited for the newest addition in the already illustrious M&M’s lineup? And if you’ve tried the new M&M’s, what is your opinion on the flavor? Let us know!

We’re Ready For New Peeps Oreos
By Cooking Panda
Oreo is always coming out with new limited edition flavors, and Peeps is always coming out with limited edition flavors, so it only makes sense that the two would work together to create a Peeps-flavored Oreo. It just seems so perfect!
Now, we aren’t sure when these will be available to purchase and try, but we do know that Instagram user “The Junk Food Aisle” has seen the new package on Walmart’s website:
With golden Oreo cookie pieces and a pink marshmallowy center, this cookie will be perfect for spring … and spring is right around the corner. Perhaps this mean that Peeps Oreo availability is right around the corner also. At the very least we should all keep our eyes peeled. As far as that’s concerned, what are the other combinations that could possibly come from this? You know, like a Peeps flavored like Oreos? Peeps Cookies ‘n’ Cream? Let’s try both and see which mashup is better.
In the meantime, while we wait for our new gold and pink spring Oreos to hit the market, let’s do some reminiscing about some of Oreo’s best limited edition flavors. Did you ever get a chance to try the Marshmallow Crispy Oreo flavor? That one is also a golden Oreo, but the cream inside has crunchy bits of a Rice Krispies Treat inside. Popsugar taste-tested this Oreo treat and it passed with flying colors!
Another Popsugar favorite was the Cookie Dough Oreo, but not because it actually tasted like cookie dough. Apparently, that flavor tasted more like a mocha Oreo with chocolate chips in it. OK, maybe this one wasn’t a Popsugar favorite as much as it was a favorite for me. Let’s be honest … a Starbucks Java Chip Frappuccino flavor of Oreo sounds amazing. If that’s what this tastes like, then why would it not be a favorite?
I think we’re all hoping the new Peeps flavor will be a hit like these two flavors were, but in the case that it isn’t, there’s always next time!limited edition, oreo, Peeps, Peeps Oreo's
Starbucks’ Valentine’s Day Drinks Look Delicious!
By Cooking Panda
Remember last year’s molten chocolate lava drinks from Starbucks? They were introduced around Valentine’s Day and were a major hit. Due to their popularity, Starbucks has decided to bring them back again this year!
Delish reports that the drinks will be available from Feb. 7 to Feb. 14, 2017, and will be available in latte, hot chocolate and frozen Frappuccino versions. The drinks debuted during Valentine’s week of 2016, and it’s no wonder they were such a hit. The actual dessert became a classic after its own debut in 1991. My only question is, why can’t we have this drink all year ’round? Just make it red and sprinkle some red sugar crystals or something on top for V-Day, so that we can enjoy the taste of molten chocolate lava cake in drink form any time we’d like!
In case you’d like to make it at home, the Molten Chocolate Latte is made by melting chocolate chips, then stirring them with espresso and pouring steamed milk on top. Add a chocolate mocha drizzle to finish the dessert-in-drink-form.
The hot chocolate is similar; just remove the espresso, basically. Melt the mocha sauce along with the chocolate chips and mix that with steamed milk and you’ll get the result you’re after. Be warned though, you can only get that amazing espresso-mocha whipped cream on your drink at Starbucks. That is, unless you want to put forth a lot of extra effort to try and make that yourself. You’re on your own in that venture, I’m afraid.
Finally, the Molten Chocolate Frappuccino is made by mixing coffee with the mocha sauce and chocolate chips and then blending that combination with milk ice. Pretty straightforward for a Frappuccino.
If you don’t think you can make it to Starbucks during the week of the Molten Chocolate promotion, or if you aren’t a big fan of chocolate, there are a couple of other seasonal treats you can try. For example, Starbucks reports that its first new drink of 2017 is the Cascara Latte. It’s made with the taste of the coffee cherry, a sort of fruit that acts as the husk of the coffee bean as we know it. The latte is made with cascara syrup and topped with cascara extract and cane sugar.
You can also try the Smoked Butterscotch latte, also available as a Frappuccino. It’s very sweet and extra delicious (I know, I tried it!). Both drinks are available while supplies last, so go and try them out!coffee, espresso, limited edition, Starbucks, valentines day
This Oreo Tin Is The Perfect Holiday Gift
By Cooking Panda
Do you have a holiday gift exchange coming up? How about a parent or grandparent to shop for, who loves cookies and other sweets? If you’re looking for ideas, look no further. This Oreo tin is perfect.
Not only is Oreo milk’s favorite cookie, it’s almost everyone else’s favorite too. Oreo seems to know this as well, and that’s why they’re offering a limited-edition holiday tin for gift-giving! Delish reports that Oreo has repackaged its limited-edition White Fudge variety for the season, so we can all go nuts over it.
The tin is available on Oreo’s new gifting website. It comes in a 2-pack for $19.99. To order, you can simply go on the site gifts.oreo.com and enter the email or phone number of the person to whom it should be delivered. It may even be to yourself, because, you know, treat yourself. It’s been a hard year.
Click “Start Gifting” and enter the name of the person and a message for him or her to receive upon opening the gift. Shipping is free and once you proceed to checkout, your lucky friend will get a message alerting him/her to the gift. You can even view a sample of what it will look like for that person to receive the digital part of the present by clicking “Preview a sample gift.”
Check out the sample gift to see how your message pops up next to a digital box wrapped with a bow that’s just begging to be opened. There’s a button underneath that says “Open my gift.” This would surely be a fun way of receiving any present. Once the receiver chooses to open the gift, the lid flies off the box to reveal the White Fudge Oreo Holiday Tin 2-Pack, all decked out in festive snow, ornaments and red bows. Next, all your friend has to do is fill out an address for the tin to be delivered to and that’s that! Click “Ship my gift,” and it’s off!
I don’t see much about an expiration date on this gift, so maybe recipients can even wait until that Oreo craving hits.holiday food, limited edition, oreo, Oreos, seasonal, White Fudge Oreo's
Ben & Jerry’s Switches Up Its Cherry Garcia Ice Cream
By Cooking Panda
Ben & Jerry’s, that Vermont ice cream company that makes all the best kinds (maybe I’m biased), always likes to keep things new and fun for us ice cream lovers, by bringing out limited edition flavors each season.
The newest endeavor is a Chocolate Cherry Garcia flavor. The classic favorite has taken on a chocolate spin that I can’t wait to get my hands on. Everything’s better with chocolate, and I always thought that’s what was missing in my Cherry Garcia. According to Brand Eating, the cherry ice cream traditionally used is replaced with chocolate for this limited-time treat, and it’s available nationwide in Ben & Jerry’s Scoop Shops, but not yet in grocery stores.
They’ve also done flavor flips with their Chubby Hubby and Half Baked, but if you’re looking for something completely new, they’ve got that too! Try the Brownie Batter Core, with chocolate and vanilla ice cream and a brownie batter core, or their Coconuts for Caramel Core, with caramel and sweet cream ice cream and, you guessed it, a caramel core. They’re also reporting a new line of non-dairy flavors for those of us who want to partake in the desserts, but can’t tolerate lactose. Good thinking!
Many of the non-dairy flavors consist of classic favorites such as Chunky Monkey, Chocolate Fudge Brownie (my favorite!) and Coffee Caramel Fudge. I’m sure soon enough there will be a much bigger non-dairy selection, just as they’re coming up with Greek yogurt selections for the more health-conscious buyers. If you’re interested in what’s being offered in the Greek yogurt category, consider trying the Banana Peanut Butter Greek Yogurt, Raspberry Fudge Chunk Greek Yogurt or the Peach Melba Greek Yogurt. All of which offer a lower-calorie option for your dessert needs.
Finally, in the spirit of the season, you won’t want to miss out on the Pumpkin Cheesecake flavor, featuring pumpkin cheesecake ice cream and a graham cracker swirl. It offers a nice little twist on the normal pumpkin spice we’re always seeing. As for me, the Chocolate Cherry Garcia is calling my name.Ben and Jerry's, Chocolate Cherry Garcia, ice cream, limited edition
Pringles Goes Sweet For The Holidays
By Cooking Panda
These days, it feels like every brand out there is subscribing to the more-is-more ideology when it comes to expansion; just look at all the different sizes and flavors of Oreos that exist, if you need an example.
Last autumn, Pringles — which already boasts a spanning array of different savory flavor varieties — decided to incorporate sweet chips into its already impressive lineup. For those of us who were fans of Pringles’ original flavor combos, the idea seemed gratuitous, but time has shown that the white chocolate, salted caramel, and pecan pie flavors have actually sold very well.
Now, Delish reports that Pringles is adding yet another seasonally sweet flavor, and it’s a personal favorite: Sugar Cookie!
Take a second to appreciate how genius this idea is, solely because of its simplicity. Sugar cookies work because they are simple and sweet; they don’t require balancing a complex and large amount of spices to work. They’re sugary and buttery, and a true crowd pleaser. Basically, the sugar cookie is a sweet counterpart to the original Pringles flavor. They just work.
At the very least, it’s a bold move on Pringles’ end to resist pumpkin-spicing up its iconic, sturdy chip for the holiday season, like so many other chains and companies have decided to do. We gotta commend them for trying something new.
The Pringles Holiday 2016 limited-edition flavors will be available nationwide soon; if you’re interested in trying out the Sugar Cookie flavor, it will be available exclusively at Walmart. The other two flavors, however, are more widely available at Dollar General stores. All of the cans will retail for $1.69 in early November.
P.S. — how cute are those limited-edition Pringles cans? They’re wearing actual sweaters!holiday flavors, limited edition, pringles, sugar cookie, Walmart
No, Really: Oreo’s Latest Flavor Is Swedish Fish, And It’s Available Now
By Cooking Panda
Here we go again!
If you thought that after unleashing Fruity Crisps, Choco Chip, Blueberry Pie, Cinnamon Bun, and a panoply of other innovative flavors, Oreo would be done for the summer — well, you’d be wrong. But honestly, you might wish you were right.
According to Thrillist, an Oreo spokesperson confirmed by phone on August 9 that a new Oreo flavor is now available for a limited time in Kroger grocery stores. So prepare yourself for Oreo’s latest invention: Swedish Fish Oreos.
Of course, this isn’t the first time Oreo has partnered with a popular candy: Reese’s Cup Oreos are a well-liked Oreo variety, but somehow that pairing just seems more natural. Both the standard Oreo cookie and Reese’s Cup involve a creamy center sandwiched between chocolate.
Swedish Fish, on the other hand, are bright red gummies with no certified flavor at all — people in the past have described them as tasting like cherries, lingonberries, syrup, and more.
If you’re curious as to how the combination has been working for others, you’re in luck: The Impulsive Buy (who is self-described as a “gummy-ologist”) has reviewed the mash-up, and the verdict? Less than sensational.
“See, this creme isn’t perfectly pillowy, soft, and squishy. It’s a little more sticky, chewy, and dare I say…slimy,” reads the review.
“The creme’s taste, though, is just like Swedish Fish,” the review adds. “It has potent, puckering pops of candied cherry and a slightly off-putting finish of waxy gelatin. … I can’t say if it’s more pleasant, though. Eating the cookie and creme together, I can really only taste the overpowering cherry creme. There’s a processed chocolate aftertaste, but even then, it has to battle for supremacy with the cherry cough syrup layer that the creme plastered on the back of my throat.”
If you’re still interested in trying the perplexing concoction for yourself, you can grab $2.99 and head over to a Kroger store for a limited time. If you’re willing to shell out a larger sum of cash, however (and don’t have a Kroger store near you), search eBay: a number of people are offering the cookies online.limited edition, mash-up, nabisco, oreo, swedish fish
Sriracha Sauce Is Coming To A McDonald’s Near You
By Cooking Panda
Now you can enjoy the taste of Sriracha at the Golden Arches.
An exclusive Sriracha Big Mac sauce has debuted at McDonald’s restaurants throughout San Diego, Los Angeles, and Seattle, combining two iconic flavors as part of the Signature Crafted Sandwich menu.
“The combination of Sriracha with our iconic Big Mac Sauce is the perfect blend of ingredients that speaks to our flavor fans who love Sriracha,” Chef Michael Haracz, Manager of Culinary Innovation at McDonald’s USA, said in a company press release. “Summer is the perfect time to enjoy great food that will please your taste buds.”
The Signature Sriracha sandwich includes the Sriracha Big Mac sauce, white cheddar cheese, onions, baby spinach, baby kale, and tomatoes. Customers in San Diego and Los Angeles can choose from Pico Guacamole, Maple Bacon Dijon, Deluxe or the new Signature Sriracha, while customers throughout Seattle will be able to pick from Pico Guacamole, Sweet BBQ Bacon or new Signature Sriracha.
“Signature Sriracha provides our customers with an exclusive blend of two wildly popular flavors, Sriracha and Big Mac Special Sauce, creating a spicy flavor in a way only McDonald’s can do,” said Bob Sutherland, president of the San Diego County McDonald’s Owner/Operators Association. “The new flavor and Signature Crafted menu are just a few of the many ways we’re changing to meet the evolving needs of our customers.”
The limited-edition Signature Sriracha Big Mac sauce is currently available at participating locations in San Diego and Los Angeles, and will debut in Seattle on July 7.
McDonald’s is just one of several companies that have attempted to introduce the beloved Sriracha sauce into their products over the past few years. Naturally, some products were better received than others.
Taco Bell, another fast-food rival, introduced several Sriracha items into its menu at Kansas City-area stores in 2014.
While trying several new flavors from Pizza Hut’s menu, the reviewer from The Consumerist had mixed emotions about the Sriracha-inspired offering.
“The Sweet Sriracha Dynamite features a Honey Sriracha sauce with a Honey Sriracha crust edge and honey Sriracha sauce drizzle,” the article said. “Something told me I was supposed to be tasting honey and Sriracha and I just felt kind of bossed around.”

McDonald’s Debuts New Summer Menu Items
By Cooking Panda
From authentic regional specialties to ice cream floats, special menu items will be available at McDonald’s this summer.
The Lobster Roll, which made its official debut last year, has returned to over 600 restaurants throughout New England and the Albany, New York area.
“The return of the Lobster Roll is exciting for McDonald’s because it was such a hit with our customers last summer,” said Suzanne Pingeton, Marketing Director for the Boston Region, in a press release. “We aim to deliver diverse, quality menu items that resonate with the customers in our community, and we’re proud to offer this regional favorite at such a great value.”
“It’s exciting to see a high demand for regional flavors at McDonald’s,” said Chef Michael Haracz, Manager of Culinary Innovation at McDonald’s USA. “Our Lobster Roll is made with quality ingredients, freshly prepared in our kitchens and exactly what our customers enjoy from McDonald’s. This sandwich is the perfect blend of ingredients to give you a great-tasting summer sandwich from McDonald’s.”
The sandwich, which is made with 100 percent North Atlantic lobster meat, is priced at $8.99. At 290 calories, it’s one of the healthiest items on the menu.
However, reviews of the sandwich have been mixed.
“If you don’t live near the ocean, this menu item might make sense,” stated a 2015 Eater review. “For those of us on the crustacean-rich coast, there’s no reason for its existence. I wouldn’t eat this farce again for any price.”
“It was a pretty good lobster roll,” wrote Suzie the Foodie, as reported by The Motley Fool. “I have had better and I have had much worse when I lived on the East Coast.”
McDonald’s locations in New York and Seattle will also be able to enjoy ice cream floats this summer, specifically Dr. Pepper floats.
“As part of our journey to build a better McDonald’s, our franchisees have more flexibility than before to offer new menu items like breakfast bowls, Gilroy garlic fries and yes, the Dr. Pepper Float,” said McDonald’s spokesperson Terri Hickey, reports Business Insider.
Although most Americans have probably enjoyed an ice cream float, this is the first time the delectable beverage has been offered at domestic McDonald’s restaurants. Locations in the Philippines, India, and Hong Kong have enjoyed ice cream floats long before the drink made it to the United States.dr pepper, Ice Cream Floats, limited edition, Lobster Roll, mcdonald's
