You Can Pick Krispy Kreme’s Next Flavor!
By Cooking Panda
The past year has left many Americans skeptical of democracy. But in the case of Krispy Kreme, the power to vote is a delectable emblem with a shiny glaze. The North Carolina-based doughnut company is leaving it up to fans to decide the next glazed doughnut flavor.
The Original Krispy Kreme doughnut is made from a secret yeast-raised doughnut recipe kept under wraps by its founder, Vernon Rudolph. The original recipe was said to have been purchased back in the 1930s by Rudolph’s uncle from a New Orleans chef named Joe LeBeau. Like any prized possession, the purported secret recipe can still be found in a locked safe just beside the founder’s old office.
The brand’s flagship doughnut line, the Original Glazed Doughnut, is the main draw for Kreme fans. Fluffy, soft and enrobed in sweet, glazed coating, a Krispy Kreme doughnut is an experience. If you’re not immune to the pull of Krispy Kreme’s neon “HOT” sign, you’re certainly not alone.
The chain keeps its core doughnuts on the menu year-round, such as the Chocolate Classics — the Original Glazed taken one step further and dipped luxuriously in chocolate icing. But recently the brand has introduced new limited-time flavors usually to commemorate national holidays; Krispy Kreme’s St. Patrick’s Doughnut, for example, was an unprecedented green in 2017, which was widely received by fans.
Now, Jackie Woodward, Chief Marketing Officer of Krispy Kreme, has announced the second wave of Krispy Kreme innovation. In a statement, Woodward highlighted the company’s eventful 2017 year: the limited-release chocolate glazed doughnut to celebrate the total solar eclipse; gingerbread molasses doughnuts for the holidays.
And now, fans have the mic. Krispy Kreme has decided to give fans the voting power to elect the next limited-edition glazed doughnut flavor. From Jan. 16 through Jan. 22, fans can vote between four flavor candidates — blueberry, caramel, lemon or maple — at the company’s website.
Everyone is allowed to cast their ballot (one vote per day). Then, when the ballots are closed, the winner will be announced on Jan. 25, after which the flavor will be released for a full week this coming spring at participating Krispy Kreme shops throughout the U.S.

Get A Gingerbread Glazed Donut From Krispy Kreme! (Photos)

Calling all gingerbread fans, novelty donut fans and basically everyone who likes a little sweet holiday flair in their lives: Krispy Kreme is releasing gingerbread donuts for an extremely limited time and no, this is not a drill.
Get them while you can! The fried dough rings will make their grand entrance on Dec. 12 — National Gingerbread House Day, as it happens — at participating U.S. and Canada locations, the donut chain announced in a Business Wire press release.
Sadly, it seems that the donuts will only be around for that one day as of now, so you’ll want to be prompt on this one.
The pastries are similar in style to Krispy Kreme’s classic glazed offering, except these are made with cinnamony gingerbread dough and covered in a gingerbread molasses glaze. Sounds pretty tasty!
“Gingerbread is a classic holiday flavor, and now there’s a delicious new way to enjoy it with the classic qualities of our Original Glazed doughnut,” Jackie Woodward, chief marketing officer of Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, said in the Business Wire release. “We take the holiday fun of gingerbread houses and celebrate it with the never-ending fun of Original Glazed doughnuts.”
Not sure if there will be gingerbread donuts in your area? You can check Krispy Kreme’s list of participating cities here.
If a tryst with the gingerbread rings is not in the cards for you, the donut shop has a number of other seasonal offerings that should be around for a good while longer, including the Melted Snowman Doughnut, Santa Belly Doughnut and Toffee Mocha beverage, notes QSR. The best part? The Santa Belly one is filled with Hot Cocoa Kreme, which sounds absolutely marvelous, don’t you think?
“Krispy Kreme’s mission is to spread joy, and with a busy holiday season, sometimes the most joyful moments are when we slow down and share a treat with family and friends,” Woodward told QSR.gingerbread donuts, krispy kreme, Krispy Kreme gingerbread, National Gingerbread House Day, seasonal donuts
Man Gets Payout After Cop Mistakes Donut Glaze For Meth
By Cooking Panda
Have you ever had a donut that was just so dang good, you thought it should be illegal? I sure have. The pillowy, glazed goodness of fried batter is often just too good to resist. But for one innocent Florida man who was arrested just for having crumbs in his car, his bi-weekly indulgence got him into unthinkable trouble.
Daniel Rushing received a $37,500 settlement from the City of Orlando after he was busted for meth in December 2015 — but there was just one problem. According to the Orlando Sentinel, the “meth” that a police officer positively tested in the 64-year-old’s car turned out to be glaze flakes from a Krispy Kreme donut.
“I couldn’t believe it,” Rushing told the Sentinel. “I’ve never even smoked a cigarette before, let alone meth.”
That day, Rushing was driving a friend home from work in an area that had been flagged for drug use, when an officer pulled him over for speeding, notes NPR.
He handed over his license and confirmed that he had a concealed-carry weapons permit, when the officer had him step outside and asked to search his vehicle. He said yes, thinking that that would surely clear up any questions.
Never in his wildest dreams did he think he’d get busted for a pastry.
But indeed, he did. The officer found a crystallized substance on the floor of his car, which tested positive for methamphetamine.
“That’s glaze from a Krispy Kreme doughnut!” he said, when the officer showed it to him. “I get one every other Wednesday.”
He spent 10 hours in jail.
“It was funny, because I called my wife to tell her what happened, and the guy next to me waiting for the phone started to laugh,” Rushing recounted to NPR. “He said, ‘This is crazy. I think you got a real good lawsuit here.’ “
And indeed, he did. After the substance underwent further testing, all charges were dropped, and he received his settlement. But his criminal record kept him from starting his own security business.
“These kits give a false positive 1 out of every 5 times,” he said. “I’m thinking about running for statehouse next year. And if I do, I’d like to get something done about these kits.”
Rushing said he sometimes receives a free donut from his local Krispy Kreme for his troubles — but he doesn’t eat it in the car.Daniel Rushing, donut for meth, doughnut mistaken for meth, krispy kreme, man arrested for donut
Krispy Kreme Pumpkin Donuts Are Here, For Now At Least (Photo)
By Cooking Panda
The pumpkin was once just a fall gourd made purely decorative as Halloween and Thanksgiving arrived. Sitting on the porch steps of spooky pseudo haunted houses, the humble pumpkin is eventually left to its own slow decay as Thanksgiving guests come and go (that is, if mischievous teens spared it from being smashed on the driveway).
But, almost as quickly as temperatures drop and leaves shrivel and discolor, so did the pumpkin’s placement in the fall season. It can’t be said for sure how pumpkins switched from Halloween decor to an essential fall flavor and fragrance distilled into every coffee, dessert, bathroom candle and deodorant imaginable (yes, pumpkin spice what-have-yous are everywhere).
So, it’s not such a surprise that Krispy Kreme jumped onto the pumpkin carriage and created the Pumpkin Spice Glazed Doughnut.
— krispykreme (@krispykreme) August 31, 2017
But, Krispy Kreme is not messing around (or is). When you’re a big-shot doughnut chain releasing pumpkin-flavored treats like everybody else, you have to approach your marketing strategy with a unique urgency.
For one day only, the Pumpkin Spice Glazed Doughnut will be available at the fabled doughnut joint. Mark your calendars for September 8!
Fresh out of the oven, they’ll be going, going, going … then gone. Forever. It’s deja-vu; just last fall Krispy Kreme pulled this same stunt, but for National Pumpkin Day. Maybe there’s a trend here: fly-by-night pumpkin-flavored creations rather than this perennial pumpkin craze that shows no sign of slowing down.
If you’re clutching your gourd heart over Kreme’s senseless pumpkin tease, fret not, pumpkin lovers. Krispy Kreme isn’t trying to play hard to get. They’re just giving us a little taste of the good stuff and attempting to answer the question of who makes the best pumpkin doughnut. (It’s Krispy Kreme, of course.)
But luckily, some pumpkin-flavored doughnuts will still be around after September 8. Krispy Kreme’s Pumpkin Spice Cake doughnuts are available during the entire fall season at most store locations. Don’t miss your chance, get ’em while they’re hot!krispy kreme, Pumpkin Spice Donuts
Check Out Krispy Kreme’s America-Inspired Donuts (Photos)

As American as apple pie — or rather, I should say as American as New York cheesecake, pecan pie, rocky road and peanut butter and jelly … donuts.
At least, that’s what Krispy Kreme would have us believe!
As they do from time to time, the North Carolina-based chain has released four donuts in its U.K. locations intended to celebrate its American roots, and honestly they all look delicious.
The New York Cheesecake Donut features a classic yeast shell filled with Kreme cheese topped with vanilla icing cookie crumbs and white chocolate-flavored drizzle, according to Brand Eating.
One review from Amy Seeks New Treats said that “there was a slight tang to the [flavor], and it was certainly different to their standard Kreme,” noting that “the sour edge helped to combat the resounding sweetness.” The dough was “beautifully soft and fluffy,” added the reviewer, and the cookie crumbs were “a welcome touch, helping to deliver the cheesecake element,” though the “white chocolate topping didn’t taste of white chocolate.” Still sounds pretty good.
The Pecan Pie Donut, meanwhile, has a maple icing-dipped yeast ring donut topped with pecans and that same white chocolate-flavored drizzle.
Amy Seeks New Treats described it as “beautifully soft” and having “a rich depth of [flavor] from the “strong maple” taste — great for maple-lovers. The small chopped nuts, Amy said, brought “a little crunchiness” though not tons of flavor. This one tastes a lot like the popular Maple Crunch donut, so give that one a try if you can’t find the Pecan Pie variety.
The Rocky Road Donut is packed with a toffee and marshmallow filling and topped with chocolate drops, chocolate icing, a toffee drizzle and cookie crumbs. According to Amy, it’s incredibly sweet and has a pleasantly strong toffee flavor, although it didn’t necessarily resemble Rocky Road.
Finally, the PB and J donut is a Reese’s peanut butter- and raspberry-filled yeast donut topped with raspberry sparkling icing, peanut butter chips and a peanut butter drizzle. Amy said this one was “sweet with a slight salinity” and that the filling had a great flavor balance too.
While you might see some of these donuts around long-term, depending on where you live (a slightly different version of the New York cheesecake one, for example, is available throughout the U.S. and Canada), they’re around for only a limited time in the U.K., so hop on them while you can!America donuts, krispy kreme, New York cheesecake donut, peanut butter jelly donut, pecan pie donut
Krispy Kreme’s Latest Donut? A Yummy Reese’s Creation! (Video)
By Cooking Panda
Just when you thought Krispy Kreme couldn’t get much better, they decided to up the ante and join together with Reese’s for an unholy union that I’m already drooling over in anticipation.
For a limited time — such is life, as with all good things — peanut butter fans can pick up a supremely rich, decadent Reese’s Peanut Butter Donut at Krispy Kreme, starting on August 4, notes USA Today.
The creamy delights are “filled with a Reese’s Peanut Butter Kreme filling, dipped in chocolate icing and topped with a chocolate and peanut butter drizzle, and Reese’s Mini Peanut Butter chips and peanuts,” says a press release, according to USA Today.
It sounds too good to be true, doesn’t it?
“The matchmaking of chocolate and peanut butter is a delicious combination that consumers have enjoyed for generations,” Jackie Woodward, chief marketing officer of Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, said in an August 2 announcement. “We’re satisfying an intense desire that Krispy Kreme and Reese’s fans never knew they had.”
No news yet on how long this beautiful treat will be around, so get it while you can.

“I have to try this!!!” one person (whom I agree with) wrote on Krispy Kreme’s Twitter.
“Oh my god,” said another. Short and to the point.
Most people agreed that it looks “amazing” and mind-blowingly delicious, although there were a few “ews” and such from people who don’t have good taste.
“Have I died and gone to donut heaven?” asked one person, correctly.
The donut chain released a similar offering in the U.K. in March 2015; it was filled with peanut butter, topped with dark chocolate and sprinkled with peanut butter chips and caramelized hazelnuts, notes Metro.
It got some great reviews on social media, with people calling it “the best thing [they] have ever tasted,” among other glowing comments.Food News, krispy kreme, new donut, reese's, seasonal donut
Get A Dozen Krispy Kreme Donuts For Only 80 Cents! (Video)
By Cooking Panda
The only thing better than a donut is a really, really cheap donut that’s almost free, am I right?
Krispy Kreme knows it. That’s why they’re offering one dozen Original Glazed donuts (let’s face it, those are the best kind) for only 80 cents to celebrate their 80th anniversary on July 14 — as long as you buy another dozen at regular price first, according to The Sacramento Bee.
The deal applies to most stores in the U.S. and Canada, and you don’t even need a coupon to cash in.
That’s probably going to come out to less than $10, as a dozen glazed donuts cost around $8 and a dozen of other types are closer to $9, putting you at under 40 cents per donut.
If you’re planning to chill by yourself at home and don’t really want to shovel 24 donuts into your mouth before they go stale, this might not be the deal for you (unless you want to go all-out and make a bunch of tasty desserts with leftover donuts!). But in the event that you have any important function to attend on July 14 or maybe just want to reward your office mates with a sweet treat, this might just be the ticket.
“The joy created by our Original Glazed doughnut and its secret recipe spans generations, and that is certainly something to celebrate,” Jackie Woodward, Chief Marketing Officer of Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, said in a statement, according to MLive. “It’s remarkable that for 80 years, Krispy Kreme’s commitment to delivering world-class doughnuts the Krispy Kreme way — hot, fresh and now — has not changed.”
— krispykreme (@krispykreme) July 7, 2017
The hot and fresh donut chain first opened its doors on July 13, 1937, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, notes The Sacramento Bee. Now, according to MLive, Krispy Kreme has more than 1,300 shops in 31 countries, and you can find their products in an estimated 12,000 other shops, like grocery and convenience stores.

We Need Krispy Kreme’s Coffee Hazelnut Spread Now! (Photo)
By Cooking Panda
If you’re a fan of Nutella, coffee and Krispy Kreme, this is basically your dream come true. It would be hard to find someone who doesn’t love at least two of those three things, so I’d say most people will be pretty pumped to know about the new Krispy Kreme coffee and hazelnut spread.
Metro reports that that Krispy Kreme has launched a Caramel Macchiato spread. It’s similar to Nutella, but has so much more to offer.
According to Tasting Table, the new spread is caffeinated. It’s made with real, premium Arabica coffee beans and hazelnuts. Basically, you can use it to spread your coffee onto your morning toast rather than drinking it from a mug. Personally, I’ll take my coffee hazelnut spread on toast along with a nice hot cup of coffee. Who doesn’t need a little extra jolt in the mornings? Especially on Mondays …
Unfortunately, if we want to believe that Instagram post by Junk Banter, the spread won’t be available until it hits Walmart shelves later this year. How late is later? I need to try it now!
If you’re like me and dying to try a caffeinated sweet spread with your breakfast (or any time, for that matter), Tasting Table has a pretty decent answer. It’s a homemade coffee butter recipe that is sure to hold you over. Who knows, maybe you can combine it with a jar of Nutella and make do?
Just use some finely ground coffee, 2 cups of heavy cream, 2 tablespoons of powdered sugar, a half teaspoon of kosher salt, cheesecloth and flaked salt if you want to get fancy and have a garnish.
Take the heavy cream and mix it with ground coffee and steep that overnight in the refrigerator. Strain your coffee mixture the next morning, pushing out as much milk fat is possible, and discard the ground coffee. Take your newly strained liquid and put it into a food processor with the sugar and kosher salt and spin it into a butter! The liquid will separate and you can transfer the mixture to cheesecloth and squeeze out the excess liquid. That’s that! Use your new butter (garnished if you’d like) right away or put it in the fridge for later.
The recipe makes a half cup of the yummy spread, so double up if you want to make extra for later. This should be enough to keep you satisfied until the new Krispy Kreme stuff hits the shelf. Get creative and add hazelnuts or Nutella and see what you can do in the meantime!caramel macchiato, coffee, Hazelnut Spread, krispy kreme
Krispy Kreme’s New Donuts Are Super Chocolaty
By Cooking Panda
Chocolaty is basically my favorite adjective. Anything that’s chocolaty can’t be bad, unless we’re talking about chocolate-covered ants or something. Fortunately, we’re talking about the sweet pairing of donuts and Ghirardelli chocolate; does it get any better?
Brand Eating reports that Krispy Kreme has come out with two new donut flavors inspired by Ghirardelli chocolate squares. The two flavors will be mint chocolate and sea salt caramel. Yum!
The mint chocolate flavor is a donut filled with white mint Kreme and then iced with chocolate. To top it off, the donut is finished with green icing, mini chocolate chips (of the Ghirardelli variety, of course) and a dusting of powdered sugar. The sea salt caramel-flavored donut features salted caramel filling, chocolate icing, chocolate and caramel drizzles, and then amber sugar, salt and mini chocolate chips again. If that seems like a lot happening at once, that probably means the flavor is perfect. It sounds pretty perfect to me, at least.
If you’re a Ghirardelli fan, I’d suggest giving these donuts a taste-test. See if their tastes resemble the Ghirardelli squares that inspired them. Any excuse is a good one to indulge in chocolate, and they were made with the same ingredients with which the famously delicious chocolates were made.
Then again, maybe you’re more of a Krispy Kreme fan, in which case you were probably going to try these anyway. According to the Krispy Kreme website, you can join the donut mogul’s app community for a fun prize of some sort. Maybe you can score a taste of these delectable new flavors for free? Or maybe one of them, at least?
As with all good things, the donuts are only available for a limited time. However, they’re featured at locations in the U.S. and Canada, so you could be lucky enough to snatch some up before they’re gone. Give them a try and leave some reviews so we know what to expect!chocolate, Ghirardelli, Ghirardelli Chocolates, krispy kreme, limited time
Enjoy St. Patrick’s Day Green Donuts At Krispy Kreme!
By Cooking Panda
Don’t you just love St. Patrick’s Day? Some cities like to dye their rivers green, some like to throw big parties and all like to encourage the wearing of green. This year, Krispy Kreme is jumping on board with the St. Paddy’s Day festivities by making their Original Glazed donut wear green as well.
Brand Eating reports that the donut giant will be offering up green versions of their glazed donuts called the “Green O’riginal Glazed.” Basically, it’s the Original Glazed donut with a little Irish twist. We know, we know — Krispy Kreme offered these donuts last year, too. The difference (other than the word “Green” added to the name) is that this year they’ll be available at even more locations!
When the donut debuted in March of 2016, a press release announced its arrival. “St. Patrick’s Day is the perfect occasion to change the color of the Original Glazed, and our customers love sharing them with family and friends,” said Jackie Woodward, chief marketing officer of Krispy Kreme Doughnuts. “What’s even rarer — like finding a four-leaf clover — is altering the name of such an iconic product. We’ve never done it. But in this instance, it’s fun and joyful, just like the holiday.”
So, what do you think of festive look? Would you like to have a green glazed donut on the day of green? I appreciate the sentiment and the observance of the holiday, but I’m not so sure a green donut looks all that appetizing. Green icing and clover sprinkles would have probably been prettier!
Either way, if you’re feeling festive you’ve got to try them out. St. Patrick’s Day is on a Friday this year, so the best gift you can give your employees (other than the day off) is a nice big box of Krispy Kreme’s Green O’riginal Glazed donuts! The green donuts will be featured at select locations in the U.S. and Canada, so check your location to find out if they’re available.Green Donuts, krispy kreme, Original Glazed Donuts, St. Patrick's Day
Krispy Kreme’s New Premium Donuts Will Give You Life (Photos)
By Cooking Panda
Good news, doughnut lovers! If you’re totally over the (admittedly delicious) standard glazed doughnut at Krispy Kreme, but still want to satisfy your sweet tooth and dessert cravings, the chain has stepped up its game and is debuting a slew of decadent new doughnuts!
Krispy Kreme Japan has launched a new premium line of doughnuts and these babies are gunning to whet the appetite of foodies everywhere.
The chain has come up with four luxurious new flavors, which are being referred to as “miniature cakes” and are available just in time for Easter.
The Krispy Kreme Premium Brulee Glazed Cream features a whipped custard cream that is sandwiched between a sliced doughnut covered with a brulee glaze. The doughnut is also caramelized with a light coat of the custard.
Next up is the Premium Latte Bunny, which is a doughnut chock full of thick latte-flavored milk cream frosting. Because Krispy Kreme Japan is super cute, it also comes adorned with a pair of biscuit ears and a dash of roasted almond flakes sprinkled on top.
The Premium Matcha Adzuki is sure to appeal to green tea fans everywhere — think whipped cream infused with green tea and a sweet adzuki red bean paste filling. Next comes the matcha green tea glaze topping, as well as a fancy gold powder dusted on top of the doughnut.
Finally there’s the Premium Sakura, which has a sweet-sour flavor and is supposed to represent the cherry blossom season. You’ll find a tart cherry paste along with a strawberry-raspberry-cranberry puree on the inside, all topped with whipped cream. Finally, the doughnut gets coated with a pink cherry icing glaze.donuts, doughnut, krispy kreme, krispy kreme japan, premium doughnut
Krispy Kreme Debuts Power Ranger Donuts! (Photo)
By Cooking Panda
Revisit your childhood, or introduce your kids to your favorite old shows, with Power Ranger donuts from Krispy Kreme! No one’s too old for these.
First of all, this isn’t out of nowhere, not that it would be a problem if it were (what’s wrong with a little throwback?). There’s a new Power Rangers movie coming out on March 24, 2017, and this is Krispy Kreme’s way of promoting it. Hey, maybe the people at Krispy Kreme are even excited about it!
Anyway, the new donuts sport the different Power Ranger colors: red, pink, blue, yellow and black. They’re covered in chocolate icing and sprinkled with fun (and edible) silver glitter just like the actual Power Rangers themselves. There’s a sugary lightning bolt decorating each one in the color of a super ranger, and the donuts are filled with Kreme. Yum!
They’re only available until April 2, to give you time to see the movie while enjoying the donut that matches your favorite Power Ranger color. According to Power Rangers Now, Walmart is already selling boxes of Krispy Kreme’s glazed donuts in boxes that feature the superhero team.
Locations offering these donuts are all over in the U.S. and Canada, so check your nearest location to find out if Power Ranger donuts are within your reach. If they are a bit of a hike, I’d recommend making the journey and bringing home a couple of boxes. You’ll be the hero of home and you’ll get to go watch the movie, then enjoy the donuts at home in Power Ranger spirit. And, by the way, there’s nothing wrong with being an adult who enjoys some Power Ranger action! Many of us grew up following along with these five superheroes in action. It only makes sense that we’d get excited about a reboot.donuts, krispy kreme, limited time, Power Rangers
Krispy Kreme Is Giving Out Free Glazed Doughnuts
By Cooking Panda
While on most days, we try to follow a diet low in processed sugars and high in antioxidants, we also believe in everything in moderation — and sometimes, you just need a perfectly glazed, sticky and sugary doughnut.
Luckily, Krispy Kreme has announced that it is now offering an all-new coffee that is actually designed to be imbibed with its classic Original Glazed doughnut.
As of Feb. 1, Krispy Kreme stores nationwide will offer two authentic new blends of coffee for customers to choose between: the Smooth, which is a subtle and easily drinkable brew, and the Rich, which is super bold and probably delicious. Both of the coffees are made from 100 percent Arabica beans and are freshly brewed.
What’s more is that Krispy Kreme wants to offer you a sweet deal to complement its brand new coffees. It announced that beginning on Feb. 6, if you go to a Krispy Kreme and purchase any size of one of the two new coffees, the shop will throw in a free Original Glazed doughnut — just because!
The promotion will run through Feb. 28, which means there are an awful lot of free glazed doughnuts available for anybody who really likes the new coffee blends!
“We have completely reinvented Krispy Kreme coffee from the bean to the cup, ensuring our customers’ beverage experience delivers the fresh quality and taste you always get from Krispy Kreme Doughnuts,” Jackie Woodward, chief marketing officer, said in the press release.
“Our new Smooth coffee is the only coffee designed to be the perfect complement to Krispy Kreme’s freshly-made Original Glazed doughnuts and other treats. It’s a combination that’s deliciously inseparable, and we’re proud to say that our coffee is now doughnut-worthy.”

Krispy Kreme’s Nutella Donut Looks 100% Perfect!
By Cooking Panda
Krispy Kreme, you are forgiven for all those times you upset us by not making something delicious available in the States. This is a perfect apology.
First of all, just look at that beautiful donut. And the best part? It’s available now! That means we can partake during the holiday season — when we’re supposed to indulge — then resolve to work it off on New Year’s, right? According to Delish, it’s called the Krispy Kreme Nutty Cocoa Ring, and it is a Krispy Kreme donut dipped in our favorite hazelnut spread, Nutella, and then sprinkled with hazelnut bits and drizzled with chocolate icing. Are you drooling yet?
Business Wire reports that this is the first time a Krispy Kreme product has featured Nutella in the United States. “Both Nutella and Krispy Kreme products are adored around the world, and we are thrilled to bring a product featuring the classic taste of Krispy Kreme and the nutty flavor of Nutella to our shops domestically,” says Jackie Woodward, chief marketing officer of Krispy Kreme Doughnuts. “Krispy Kreme has a wide variety of doughnuts, but this indulgent combination will allow for a flavor experience unlike any other.”
Woodward couldn’t be more right. I don’t know how I never thought of combining Nutella with donuts before, now that she mentions it. It’s obviously the best combination possible. Other new and seasonal Krispy Kreme donut flavors are available as well, if you want to order more than one. For the holidays, you can try the Wreath, Holiday Treat, Snowflake and Snowman donuts — all of which are regular glazed donuts with white icing and decorations. (Beware that the Nutella Nutty Cocoa Ring is also a limited-time flavor!)
As for special-order flavors, they’ve got Kit Kat donuts (with Kit Kat bars literally sticking out of them!), Oreo Cheesecake, and Strawberries and Kreme, to name a few. I know they all sound good, but that Strawberries and Kreme donut combines strawberries and chocolate in all the right ways.
If you’re focused on the Nutella donut only, I don’t blame you. Visit this link, http://www.krispykreme.com/Nutella, to find out if your location has it.donuts, krispy kreme, nutella, Nutella Donut
Krispy Kreme’s Holiday Donuts Are Adorable
By Cooking Panda
Krispy Kreme has come out with three new holiday donut options that look delicious, and two of them are cute to boot!
According to Brand Eating, the three new donuts will be available until Christmas, and here’s what they are: Melted Snowman, Santa Belly and Holiday Sprinkles.
My personal fave, the Melted Snowman (just because it’s adorable), is a Kreme-filled variety dipped in white icing and, as you can probably guess by the name, looks like a melting snowman. A rather unhappy one at that. The Santa Belly donut is filled with a hot cocoa Kreme (so, just chocolate?) and decorated with chocolate icing and a candy belt buckle. The perfectly round donut shape is a perfect portrayal of the belly of Old St. Nick. How cute!
The Holiday Sprinkles donut is a regular donut (as in, there’s a hole in the middle instead of filling) and is decorated with chocolate icing and red, green and white sprinkles. This is the crowd-pleaser you want for your holiday office lunch parties, or to add some happiness to your morning routine.
Speaking of breakfast, you might also want to start your day off with a nice hot (or cold, if that’s the way you roll) Toffee Mocha, also only available for a limited time. It’s a toffee-flavored latte topped with whipped cream. Try it with one of those donuts for the sugar-rushed morning you sometimes need, especially on Mondays.
Speaking of Krispy Kreme and limited-time offers, you can also special order a Football Donut for your football celebrations … or losses. Whichever gives you a reasonable excuse to indulge. As you can guess, it’s shaped like a football with chocolate icing for the brown part (pigskin? You can tell I’m not a football fan) and white icing for the stitching. This donut is available all the way until Feb. 7, 2017, so you’ve got a little more time to order it.
The last limited-time donut I’m going to drool over is the Salted Caramel Latte Donut. It’s filled with espresso Kreme and topped with salted caramel, a salted sugar blend and espresso icing. Go now and find it at your local Krispy Kreme!donuts, holidays, krispy kreme, limited time
Krispy Kreme Sued For $5 Million Over Doughnut Filling
By Cooking Panda
These days, we all want the best and the most nutritious food for our bodies.
Gone are the days that filling ourselves up with artificial agents and processed ingredients was the norm. Even those of us who are cool with snacking on foods billed as unhealthy typically do so with the knowledge that what we are ingesting isn’t exactly optimal for our bodies.
Perhaps that is why a class-action lawsuit was filed in Los Angeles federal court by a former Krispy Kreme customer named Jason Saidian. According to the Washington Times, Saidian claims that the doughnut chain fills its fruit-filled and maple-glazed products with “nutritionally inferior ingredients,” thereby rendering it guilty of not only false advertising, but also fraud.
“Unbeknownst to Plaintiff and other consumers, the Raspberry Products do not contain actual raspberries, the Maple Products do not contain actual maple syrup or maple sugar and the Blueberry Products do not contain actual blueberries,” Washington Post reports the lawsuit as reading. Is it just us, or does that not sound like a line straight out of Willy Wonka?
The snozzberries taste like snozzberries, folks!
The lawsuit goes on to allege that Krispy Kreme has conducted “false and misleading business practices” because varieties of the chain’s doughnuts, such as the “Glazed Raspberry Filled,” “Glazed Blueberry Cake” and “Maple Iced Glazed,” are not actually made with the ingredients listed in their names.
Saidian claims that he would not have purchased the doughnuts had he been aware that other than using the real fruit, the company uses things like gums, artificial food coloring, sugar and corn syrup to mimic the shape and color of things like blueberries, raspberries and other naturally occurring products.
“Plaintiff and other consumers purchased the Products, reasonably relying on Defendant’s deceptive representation about the Products, and believing that each of the Products contained its respective Premium Ingredient. Had Plaintiff and other consumers known that the Products did not contain their Premium Ingredients, they would not have purchased the Products or would have paid significantly less for the Products. Therefore, Plaintiff and consumers have suffered injury in fact as a result of Defendant’s deceptive practices,” the complaint says, per the Washington Post.
“As a result of their misleading business practice, and the harm caused to Plaintiff and other consumers, Defendant should be required to pay for all damages caused to consumers, including Plaintiff. Furthermore, Defendant should be enjoined from engaging in these deceptive practices.”
Attorneys are seeking $5 million in damages and class-action status against Krispy Kreme.artificial ingredients, doughnuts, krispy kreme, Lawsuit, premium ingredients
Get A Free Krispy Kreme Donut On Election Day!
By Cooking Panda
With the 2016 election having been a very tough one for most voters in the United States, I think there’s one thing we can all agree on: everyone needs to get out and vote!
Krispy Kreme seems to feel this way, at least. QSR has announced that on Nov. 8, those wearing an “I voted” sticker will be rewarded with a free Krispy Kreme donut as a “Thank you” from Krispy Kreme.
“We want to sweeten Election Day by saying ‘thank you’ to those who participate at the polls,” says Jackie Woodward, Chief Marketing Officer of Krispy Kreme Doughnuts. “It has been a long election season, and we think a free treat is the perfect way to reward voters.”
That’s very thoughtful of Krispy Kreme, and also a good motivator for some who may not have been planning on voting, but would like to get a free donut.
Krispy Kreme isn’t the only business offering up Election Day deals. According to Offers.com, some deals and freebies are available at chain restaurants, like Firehouse Subs, BurgerFi, Hard Rock Café and 7-Eleven. Many offers provide a free…something, including drinks and desserts.
Other offers are discounted items, like BurgerFi’s $5 Conflicted Burger, for those who haven’t been feeling too confident this election season, and really just need to take comfort in a delicious burger. They only have to show their “I Voted” sticker, once again, and the burger is theirs.
Many more deals are localized, for example, according to the Florida Sun-Sentinel, voters can take advantage of specials in many south Florida counties, like free entry into the History Miami Museum by showing off your “I Voted” sticker.
Check your local restaurants and bars to see what’s being offered in your area. You might even find that some bars and restaurants are showing coverage and having election themed parties. Anything to take the edge off, right? However, don’t be surprised if fights break out, because they almost certainly will. This has been a very passionate election season, to say the least.donuts, Election Day 2016, Free Donut, krispy kreme
Krispy Kreme Jumps On The Pumpkin Spice Train
By Cooking Panda
For one full day, at least.
Brand Eating reports that Krispy Kreme plans to change its original glazed doughnut into a pumpkin spice version for one day only on Oct. 26. This will be in celebration of National Pumpkin Spice day, and the new Pumpkin Spice Original Glazed donut will be available at participating locations in the United States and Canada.
If you can’t make it to a Krispy Kreme location on that particular day, you can always try their seasonal pumpkin spice cake donut instead. Brand Eating did a taste test of this doughnut flavor, which they described it as soft, moist, sweet and yummy. Although they claimed that it was lacking in the taste of pumpkin, it did have plenty of spice.
If you’ve really got a serious case of the pumpkin spice fever this year, you can always try to make it to Krispy Kreme in time to try both the Pumpkin Spice Original Glazed doughnut and the pumpkin spice cake doughnut and compare them.
Maybe the pumpkin spice cake doughnut is supposed to be less pumpkin-y and more cake-ish? And maybe the new Pumpkin Spice Original Glazed doughnut will have more of that pumpkin kick you might be expecting. Either way, I’m sure they’re both delicious. Who can go wrong with a doughnut? Certainly not Krispy Kreme.
Want even more pumpkin spice? Wash down your pumpkin-flavored doughnuts with Krispy Kreme’s seasonal pumpkin spice latte while you’re at it. According to the doughnut gurus themselves, it’s available this year hot, iced or frozen.
“Our fans crave these seasonally inspired treats, and the pairing of a Pumpkin Spice Latte and one of our doughnuts makes for the perfect comfort food as the weather starts to cool down,” says Jackie Woodward, Chief Marketing Officer at Krispy Kreme Doughnuts.
See? Even they recommend it as a perfect pairing.
If, by some chance, your tastes don’t fall so much into the pumpkin realm, Krispy Kreme also offers a seasonal salted caramel latte donut, which also delivers a taste of fall. Check it all out at your nearest location before the season’s over!Fall Flavors, krispy kreme, pumpkin spice
