10 Amazing Discounts For National Coffee Day 2017

By Cooking Panda

Coffee is a wonderful part of being alive. It wakes us up when we’re not ready for the world, and it keeps us going when we feel we don’t have any energy left. And it tastes great too!

Coffee is so good that it even makes chocolate taste better. Just add a couple spoonfuls of coffee to your brownie or cake batter and you’ll be in mocha heaven.

In honor of the delightful beverage, the food lords (or whoever it is that comes up with these things) have established Sept. 29 as National Coffee Day, and it has majorly caught on. You can score all kinds of discounts and freebies on coffee across the nation! Check out some of the best deals, as noted by Brand Eating and Delish:

7-Eleven: From Sept. 29 to Oct. 1, you can have one free coffee per day if you sign up for 7Rewards — which you really ought to do anyway if you frequently buy coffee from the convenience store chain.

Baskin-Robbins: Grab a small Cappuccino Blast for just $2.99.

Cinnabon: Pick up a free 12-ounce coffee. All you need to do is show up!

Dunkin’ Donuts: Buy a medium or large hot coffee and you’ll get a free medium one.

Krispy Kreme: From Sept. 29 to Oct. 1, get a free small iced coffee or any size hot one at participating locations throughout the U.S. and Canada.

Lyft: Use the rideshare company in Seattle, Portland, Oregon, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago, Dallas and Austin, Texas, or Philadelphia and score a free can of High Brew cold brew coffee.

McDonald’s: Get $2 small McCafe drinks, which include smoothies, frappes, or shakes — all indications suggest that this deal is ongoing, not just for National Coffee Day.

Peet’s Coffee: Buy a bag of coffee beans for 25 percent off, plus score a free drip coffee or tea along with it. If you’re buying the beans online, use the promo code coffeeday17 and you’ll get the same discount.

Pilot and Flying J Travel Centers: Grab the coupon from Pilot Coffee’s website and use it to pick up a free small hot beverage like coffee, tea or cappuccino.

Tim Horton’s: From Sept. 29 to Oct. 8, download the coffee shop’s free app and get any size of their Original Blend, Dark Roast, Decaf or Iced Coffee for free.

Here’s Where You Can Get Freebies On National Coffee Day

By Cooking Panda

Coffee fanatics rejoice! Sept. 29 is National Coffee Day, which basically means you have a hall pass to drink as much of the good stuff as you want.

The history of coffee traces back centuries to ancient Ethiopian coffee forests, but no one knows exactly who started drinking the magical beans first. Legend has it that a goat herder named Kaldi saw his goats get super amped and stay up all night after eating berries from a certain tree.

So, Kaldi went to the abbot of a local monastery and told his story. The abbot made a drink with the berries and found that it kept them wide awake through the night during evening prayer. Then it spread to the Arabian Peninsula and eventually became a worldwide phenomenon. And the rest is history.

Kaldi, we salute you with our mugs full of caffeinated bean juice! You are a hero.

And more importantly, here’s where you can get freebies on Sept. 29, according to USA Today:

Peet’s Coffee: Most Peet’s locations are giving away free medium drip coffee when you buy any fresh food item. The coffee franchise will also announce the top 10 finalists for an Ode to Coffee First, a video contest collaboration with Project Greenlight.

Pilot Flying J: Grab the coupon from their website and use it to get one free small cup of Pilot coffee, tea or cappuccino in the U.S. and Canada between 12:01 a.m. and 11:59 p.m. Eastern on Sept 29.

Dunkin Donuts: In honor of Dunkin’s 66th anniversary, the chain is giving out 66-cent medium cups of hot coffee. Get on that.

Krispy Kreme: At participating locations, you’ll be able to get a free small coffee and free Original Glazed doughnut.

Keurig.com: From Sept. 29 to Oct. 2, Keurig is having a ton of deals on coffee drinks. You can get 20 percent off Green Mountain Coffee K-Cup pods and 15% off other Green Mountain stuff with the code GREENSAVINGS at checkout. Go shop!

Starbucks: As far as we know, the Seattle-based chain is not giving out any freebies to customers, but they are doing something pretty neat: For each cup of Mexico Chiapas coffee sold on National Coffee Day, ‘Bux will donate free coffee trees to farmers in need.

Caribou Coffee: These guys are doing something similar and will donate a free cup of coffee to caregivers at healthcare facilities and hospitals when you buy a cup of Amy’s Blend Coffee.

Stay caffeinated, friends!

10 Ways To Sweeten Your Tax Day

By Cooking Panda

Tax Day is April 18!

While most people probably wouldn’t punctuate that sentence with an exclamation point, we have a feeling that this year your tax day celebration is going to be a little bit sweeter than usual.

We’ve rounded-up a list of 10 restaurants offering tax-day discounts so you can earn back a little of the hard-earned money you handed over to Uncle Sam in 2016. Just remember to mail your return before you cash in on any of these sweet deals!

  1. Arby’s
Celebrate tax day by drowning your sorrows in roast beef, no coupon required. This year, Arby’s is offering two Gyros for $6 until April 30, so take your time cashing in on this deal!
  2. Boston Market
Boston Market is getting punny by offering an individual half-chicken meal with cornbread, two sides, a cookie and a drink for $10.40 (get it?).  The deal is only available April 18, so plan accordingly.
  3. Buca di Beppo
There’s nothing more comforting than steaming plates of spaghetti, sized to share. Download Buca di Beppo’s Tax-Day coupon and head to your closest restaurant for 18 percent off your entire meal on April 18.
  4. Chili’s
Nothing screams tax-day relief like an icy mix of tequila and lime.  Head to Chili’s for a $5 Presidente Margarita on April 18.
  5. Great American Cookies
Satisfy that post-tax sugar craving with a free chocolate chip cookie at all Great American Cookie locations on April 18 — no coupons or promo codes required!
  6. Noodles & Company
Noodles & Company is offering not one, but two tax-day deals! Order online between April 11 and April 18 and enter the code “TAXDAY” to claim $4 off your order of $10 or more, or come into the restaurant itself to get a free kids meal on April 18 with the purchase of any regular entree (because while your kids may not have to file their own taxes yet, they deserve a “thank you” for all the deductibles they’ve earned you in 2016).
  7. Outback Steakhouse
Download a coupon from Outback’s website and celebrate tax day in the most American way possible — with a big, juicy steak.  Present the coupon at lunch or dinner on April 18 and receive 15 percent off your check (excluding alcohol, tax and tip).
  8. Red Robin
Indulge your adventurous side by heading to Red Robin the day after tax day.  On April 19, all customers who order the new Ramen burger will receive a $2.22 discount, and the first 22 college students who enter the restaurant with a valid student ID will have the opportunity to get a Ramen burger and bottomless fries for only $0.22.
  9. Schlotzsky’s
Sourdough is almost as American as steak, so head to Schlotzsky’s on April 18 for a free Original Sandwich with the purchase of a 32-ounce beverage and a bag of chips.
  10. Sonic
Last, but not least, Sonic is offering half-price cheeseburgers on April 18. We suggest you celebrate by ordering a large milkshake while you’re at it!
