Uber Is Giving Away Free Ice Cream! Go Get It! (Photo)

By Cooking Panda

Want free ice cream? You can get some courtesy of Uber and McDonald’s, but you need to jump on it quickly.

Here’s the scoop: UberEATS, which this summer joined with McDonald’s to bring you McDelivery, delivered free ice cream on August 11, and they might even still be doing it if they haven’t run out of supplies in your city, although it doesn’t look like there’s still an option on the Uber app to match with an ice cream truck.

But if you were able to capitalize on that deal, it will have gotten you free ice cream for you and four friends, plus they’ll have given you a limited edition, collectible silicone cone embossed with the Uber logo, according to Cosmopolitan. Pretty sweet.

Thanks, Uber ice cream truck!

Sadly, it’s only happening in a handful of cities — Los Angeles, Washington, D.C., Atlanta, New York, Miami, Dallas, San Francisco, Toronto, Boston and Seattle — but hey, that’s still pretty cool!

An #ubericecream truck came to the @bustle office today ???? // (also, sry about my chipped nail ?????+?????)

Should you be lucky enough to get your hands on one of those special Uber cones — and a punch card, according to Uber — make sure to hang onto it and bring it with you to a McDonald’s for a free soft serve scoop every Friday until September 22.

If you missed this deal, don’t fret! You can still get ice cream delivered to you, although you’ll have to shell out a few bucks for it. UberEATS does work with some ice cream and frozen yogurt shops, so all you need to do is find a spot near you on the Uber app and wait for them to shuttle it over to you. According to Reddit, ice cream delivery drivers have all kinds of systems — like using coolers and/or cold packs to keep your dessert as cold as possible, so even skeptics can order away!

Want Free McDonald’s Ice Cream? Here’s How To Get It! (Video)

By Cooking Panda

As everybody knows, the best kind of ice cream is free ice cream, and the best kind of holiday is the kind when you can get such a delicious frozen dessert for free.

That’s all going to happen on July 16, which incidentally is National Ice Cream Day, when McDonald’s is giving out free vanilla soft serve cones to all. Oh happy day!

TIME notes that National Ice Cream Day is a totally made up holiday, but aren’t all holidays made up?

All you have to do to cash in on this offer is download McD’s mobile app and find the free ice cream coupon under “my deals,” according to Business Insider. It should appear on July 16, and you can show to cashiers at the register or drive-thru to get your complimentary cone between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m.

No word yet on whether or not this means that their ice cream machine will actually be working when you come in for your free scoop, though.

You can probably delete the app when you’re done, but it’s honestly pretty great to have if you go to McDonald’s every now and again — you can almost always find a coupon that makes it worth your while. But hey, you do you.

Still skeptical about this free offer? Don’t be. The famous fast food company has made some changes to its soft serve recipe, and they’re promoting that.

Starting in late 2016, McDonald’s took artificial flavors, colors and preservatives out of their soft serve. Does this mean that my McFlurry is now healthy?

On July 10, the golden arches social media launched a campaign to hype you up by dishing out personalized compliments to Twitter users who tweet McDonald’s with the hashtag #SoftServed.

There will probably be a bunch more deals popping up for National Ice Cream Day, so keep your eyes peeled!

Go Get Free Ice Cream From Haagen-Dazs!

By Cooking Panda

Haagen-Dazs Shops are giving out free ice cream cones on Tuesday, May 9, so head in and claim your tasty prize!

According to Brand Eating, this free cone giveaway is part of the annual Free Cone Day, and is available from 4 to 8 p.m. local time. Choose your fave ice cream flavor and enjoy today!

The Haagen-Dazs website reports that this promotion is about more than just ice cream. Free Cone Day is dedicated to creating a “buzz” about honey bees. Did you see that coming? Haagen-Dazs says “This May 9th, we won’t just be giving away free ice cream, we’ll be giving our flying friends some much needed recognition — and we’re inviting our fans to join us.”

Of course, the honey bees are needed to keep over one-third of the world’s crops growing, but they’re also necessary for one-third of the ice cream chain’s ice cream flavors. If you think they are special flavors probably only offered by Haagen-Dazs, you’re sadly mistaken. The affected flavors (that we wouldn’t have anymore without honey bees) include strawberry, rocky road, mango and vanilla. Imagine a world without vanilla ice cream! I don’t even want to.

Haagen-Dazs has donated over a million dollars in pollinator research and education, and has installed miles of homes for the little busybodies. It only makes sense to try and educate the ice cream audience of the effects of decreased honey bee populations, since we’re rather attached to many of the crops that will be affected. That’s why Haagen-Dazs wants us to know how we can also help.

Use Free Cone Day to not only enjoy your favorite ice cream flavor, but also to start a “buzz” about the importance of honey bees. Plant some wildflowers and other native plants to attract these pollinators, and protect their homes. They typically live in places like messy garden areas, tree stumps and open sandy areas.

Protect the bees and enjoy a strawberry or rocky road ice cream this May to show your appreciation for the honey bees!
