4 Ways To Get Free Stuff On Chocolate Chip Cookie Day (Plus 4 Recipes)
By Cooking Panda
August 4 is National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day, and I couldn’t be happier about it!
Did you know that the classic American dessert was invented by complete accident? According to All About Chocolate Chip Cookies, in the 1930s, a hero of a woman named Ruth Graves Wakefield was baking cookies for a tourist lodge that she owned called the Toll House Inn (sound familiar?) and she substituted a Nestle chocolate bar for baking chocolate when she ran out of the stuff.
Thinking the chips would melt into the dough and create a chocolate cookie, she was in for quite a surprise — a supremely delicious one — when she saw that that wasn’t the case.
You know the rest of the story: Years later, the accidental creation remains America’s favorite cookie, and life without them sounds like a bleak existence indeed.
So August 4 goes out to the extra-special cookie, and guess what? You can even get some free stuff out of it. Here are the best nationwide deals for National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day, according to KTRK:
1. BJ’s Restaurant and Brewhouse: Sign up for Premier Rewards with the company and you’ll get a voucher for a free Pizookie, also known as a giant hot-out-of-the-oven cookie topped with ice cream.
2. Corner Bakery Cafe: From August 4-6, make any purchase and you’ll get a free cookie in return.
3. DoubleTree by Hilton: Wander on into any participating location (no reservation needed!) and snag yourself a free cookie! No strings attached — only on August 4.
4. Nestle Toll House Cafe: These cafes are also giving out free cookies on August 4! All you need to do is show up and the free treat is all yours.
Are you more in the mood to whip something up at home to celebrate this great holiday? Here are some delicious ways to pay tribute to Mrs. Wakefield!
There’s a reason this cookie recipe has survived for so long — there’s nothing like a classic!
I’m not sure that “leftover chocolate chip cookies” is really a thing, but if you have some that accidentally get a little stale, this is a great way to give them new life.
A big pan full of gooey, warm, crumbly cookie with a few heaping scoops of melting ice cream on top. Does it get any better?
If you love soft cookies, this cake version will blow you away. It’s supremely soft and pillowy for a cookie but delightfully dense and a bit chewy for a cake. Plus, you get to put chocolate frosting on top — a definite bonus.chocolate chip cookie, cookie recipe, food holiday, free food, National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day
Celebrate National Wing Day: 4 Deals And 4 Recipes
By Cooking Panda
July 29 is a very important day! It’s National Chicken Wing Day, and I couldn’t be more ready for it.
In honor of the crispy, saucy meaty morsels, a number of businesses are offering some pretty sweet deals, so make sure that you take advantage of the special bargains on your favorite wings!
Here are some of the best deals in town at participating locations, according to The Sun-Sentinel:
Buffalo Wild Wings: For $9.99, you can get a small order of boneless wings and fries, or you can get a small order of bone-in wings with fries for $12.99.
East Coast Wings: Through July 31, join the chicken wing joint’s rewards program and get a coupon for a free appetizer.
Hooters: Order any 10 wings and score an additional 10 smoked wings to promote the healthier, dry rubbed take on their traditional bone-in buffalo wings.
Hurricane Grill and Wings: Wings are only $1 each when you dine in and order five, 10, 15 or 20 at a time. Plus, spend $20 and you get a free beer or soda.
Not feeling the chicken chains? Make your own wings! Here are some great recipes:
The best part about making them yourself is that you can make them as spicy or mild as you like. Plus, you can get them really crunchy in the oven without having to fry them!
These grilled spicy and tangy wings, complete with creamy white barbecue sauce, are a nice change of pace from your standard buffalo fare. Make them on the grill, in the smoker or even in the oven for a fabulous and easy twist on the classic snack.
Because, obviously, cheese and bacon make everything way better. It’s a beautiful combo, and it ensures that you get a creamy, flavorful wing every time.
It sounds weird, but bear with me for a second and give these guys a try. Sweet + savory never tasted so good!

Here’s How To Win Free McDonald’s Ice Cream For Life! (Photo)
By Cooking Panda
How much do you love McDonald’s soft serve ice cream?
A lot, I bet.
But do you love it so much that you could eat it every day for the rest of your life?
Because you can.
On July 16 — which also happens to be National Ice Cream Day — one lucky person will win a special McDonald’s gold cone that gets them free soft serve for life, according to Delish.
Here’s how to get it: as Cooking Panda reported earlier, Mickey D’s is giving out free vanilla soft serve cones between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. on July 16 in honor of the very special holiday. To cash in on this excellent offer AND be automatically entered to win a lifetime of happiness — errr, I mean free ice cream — all you need to do is download the McDonald’s mobile app and redeem the offer, which should pop up under the “my deals” section.
From there, you head to the Golden Arches, show your cashier (drive-thru or in the restaurant) the coupon, and you’ll be handed a cone. One randomly selected lucky customer will hit the soft serve jackpot, and their soft serve will come out looking something like this:
If you score big, you sadly won’t be able to eat the cone, which is a brass replica of a wafer cone and is plated with real gold. But you will be able to eat a lot of free ice cream out of it if you want.
According to McDonald’s list of rules, the odds of visiting the restaurant with the gold cone is one in 13,938, so the odds of winning are even lower than that. But hey, it’s got to be somebody, right? Why not me?
It’s my solemn duty to tell you that technically this isn’t exactly a free pass to get all the ice cream you want. McDonald’s creepily defines “life” as “one cone each week for 50 years,” so if you live longer than that you’ll need to conserve your scoops.
What you’ll actually be receiving is a $312 McDonald’s Arch Card along with a $4,680 check, which still sounds pretty sweet to me.
Good luck, friends!free food, free ice cream for life, free McDonald's for life, golden cone, mcdonald's
Free Whoppers From Burger King! But, There’s A Catch
By Cooking Panda
Your name has to be “grill.” That is, it has to be the Spanish word for grill: Parrilla. It’s an Argentinian last name, and those who’ve had to bear it all their lives now get a lifetime’s worth of free Whoppers. Finally, some payback!
According to Adweek, those with the last name Parilla (“grill” in English) have suffered bullying for the sake of having such a name. Jokes were impolite to say the least, and now those who carry the name can wear it with pride. Way to go, Burger King.
The announcement was made in Burger King’s latest ad, which is very real in describing the bullying that takes place against the Parrilla families. Some of the comments would include things like, “This weiner is for your grill,” or “Take care of my meat.” One vegan boy even mentioned that bullies would tell him he has no “eggs.” I will leave it up to you to decide what they’re actually inferring here.
The ad shows each of these unfortunate name-bearers receiving a note from Burger King (it kind of looks like a Hogwarts acceptance letter to me) explaining to them that the word “grill” is something they are proud of. “At Burger King we flame grill. And we are proud of it. It’s how we cook our burgers. So as of today, if your last name is GRILL, you get a lifetime supply of free Whopper sandwiches.”
As any of us would, each of the recipients of this generous gift have to take a second to get past the initial shock of the letter, and let it soak in that YES, this is real! Now, they can wear their name with a newfound pride (but what about the vegan name-bearers?).
Burger King’s new Parrilla promotion helps to drive the point home that the chain’s burgers are indeed flame grilled, and that they have a connection with grills, even people who bear the name grill.
“We are proud to belong to the Parrilla family for more than 60 years,” said Burger King’s marketing director in Argentina, “and the best way to put it is by recognizing for life those who bear that surname.”Burger King, free food, Whoppers for Life

Teens Pretend To Get Engaged To Score Free Dessert (Photos)
By Cooking Panda
Everybody loves indulging in a delicious and well-prepared restaurant meal now and again, and sometimes, the best way to top off an experience like that is with dessert at the very end. As they say, it’s the cherry on top.
However, if you’re already shelling out a hefty amount for your main course, sometimes it just becomes a little too much to splurge on dessert, especially if you’re on a budget. Understandably, that can be a bummer if you really wanted to go all out but just can’t justify it.
Perhaps that’s why Cati Domitrovich, 19, and her best friend decided to fake getting engaged at a restaurant after having a bad week and wanting to cheer themselves up with some comfort food at what BuzzFeed says they described as a “fancy dinner.”
“We faked a proposal just to get free dessert,” Domitrovich posted on her Twitter, followed by a series of photos of her best friend getting down on one knee and popping a ring onto her finger. Then, she tweeted a photo of the dessert they allegedly got for free from the restaurant to help them celebrate.

— ☼ (@bathemeinnudes) March 26, 2017
Alex Nagle, 17, the best friend in question, told the server ahead of time he was going to propose and asked the waitstaff to document their “special moment.”
“Everyone believed us and everyone clapped,” Domitrovich told BuzzFeed.
When asked about the experience in totality, Domitrovich had this to say: the dessert was “really good.”
While she may be a good schemer, she’s not necessarily as free-flowing and innovative with her words — and neither is her fake hubby, who chimed in to BuzzFeed that he found the entire production “really fun.”
If you’re getting inspired, just know this: Even though Domitrovich told BuzzFeed that they are planning on potentially trying this whole thing out at other restaurants in Texas, now that the story has hit the news, chances are it’s going to be more difficult to con an establishment, its waitstaff and its chefs out of their food and time.dessert, fancy dinner, free food, internet chaos, Prank
Delta Airlines To Begin Offering Free Food
By Cooking Panda
Airplane food has been through the ringer over the past few years.
When we were growing up, we remember always keenly looking forward to the bland but somehow still appetizing assortment of snacks airlines used to give out to its passengers — free of charge.
Something changed — just kidding, we know what changed. The financial crisis in 2007 occurred and suddenly airlines were charging exorbitant amounts of money for food that really just didn’t hold the same draw. We started packing snacks, or shelling out too much money at the airport food courts to tide us over before landing.
Now, however, Delta Air Lines has announced that on select routes beginning on March 1, 2017, it will begin serving complimentary fresh meals.
Free food, folks! In the air!
If you live in New York, you’re in luck, because the free food will begin with flights leaving JFK airport to LAX and SFO on March 1.
Next, Delta will begin doling out that complimentary food service to passengers in 10 other major transcontinental markets beginning on April 24.
From Boston to San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Seattle; between Washington DCA airport and LAX; between New York JFK and Portland, Oregon, San Diego, and Seattle; and on flights between Seattle and Fort Lauderdale and Orlando, Florida, and Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina, you’ll be able to chow down on some sweet, free flight food.
If you’re flying Delta in the morning, Travel and Leisure reports that you will get your choice between a honey maple breakfast sandwich, a continental breakfast, or a fruit and cheese plate.
Flying during the day? Then you select between a mesquite-smoked turkey combinations, a Luvo Mediterranean whole-grain veggie wrap, or once again, a classic fruit and cheese plate.
The menu is also slated to focus on seasonal and locally sourced ingredients, and refresh regularly for all 12 routes.Airline Food, airplane food, complimentary food, delta, free food

Shred Your Ex’s Photo For Free Valentine’s Day Wings
By Cooking Panda
If you’re sad about being alone this Valentine’s Day, perk up for free wings. All you have to do to enjoy yourself is bring a picture of your ex and shred it at Hooters.
Thrillist reports that the restaurant is offering this deal with a purchase of 10 boneless wings. Basically, you order the wings, shred the picture and then get another 10 boneless wings free of charge. Because, well, treat yourself! There’s no need to hate Valentine’s Day when there can be something in it for everyone. And who doesn’t love free wings? There’s an added satisfaction to taking the picture into Hooters and shredding it, since they put it through an actual shredder for you. I imagine that something about watching that happen just feels right.
For those who wish to stay in on Valentine’s Day, you can even shred the picture virtually and print the coupon and get your wings to go. Who says eating wings at home alone can’t be a good time? I mean, it’s not what I prefer but maybe that’s the right choice for some.
You have to go in on Feb. 14, 2017, to get the deal, according to Maxim, and you can get your free wings in any of the 17 sauces or any of the dry rubs your heart desires. You’ll even get help from the Hooters girls, to make it a more lively and spunky event, rather than pitiful and heartbreaking.
The same deal has been enjoyed in the past, and last year over 25,000 single and lonely people took advantage of the online version of this deal on Valentine’s Day.
And hey, if ripping your ex’s picture to shreds isn’t quite harsh enough for you, the deal offers the option to burn it as well. So don’t knock the promo before you’ve tried it. Who knows what demons are still lurking under your calm exterior. I bet burning the picture might feel pretty nice.
The only catch to this (that I can imagine) is there are probably many people who would burn a picture of a current S.O., or an ex before an ex or something in order just to get free wings. Whatever the case, I guess the point is to enjoy your V-Day.free food, free wings, hooters, valentines day, Wings
Go Get A Free Burger From Shake Shack, Today!
By Cooking Panda
Want a free burger from Shake Shack? Of course you do. All you have to do is download the app!
Business Insider reports that the burger chain is gifting a single ShackBurger to anyone who downloads the app, which has just been made available in all 50 states. This is both an act of celebration, and a way to encourage customers to get familiar with the newly launched app software.
The app is called “Shack App,” and to cash-in on your free burger, you can use the promo code “shackappy” upon checkout. The best part is that it’s redeemable at any Shake Shack location (other than those in airports, stadiums and ballparks) anytime until Feb. 28, 2017.
Shake Shack is known for having exhaustingly long lines, and this new ability to order online allows customers to skip right over all of that waiting. According to Eater, the app is currently only available on iOS, but there are rumors that an Android version is in the making.
The app itself allows you to order any of your favorite menu items, and even allows you to customize them as well. The only menu item that appears to be unavailable is the frozen custard line, but you can still get the chain’s dog treats and custom-made candy bar.
Testing the app had been going on since October 2016 at one location in Midtown Manhattan, New York City. The process involved ordering and paying for menu items, and then receiving a text when those ordered items were ready. Then, the customers can drop by and pick up their items in a designated to-go area of the restaurant. It’s no surprise that such a convenient style of food ordering passed the testing phase and has picked up (since other chains are already using it, such as Taco Bell, Starbucks and Chipotle) in popularity. How much faster and easier can fast food get?
Just take a look at the sleek design of the Shake Shack app, and tell me it doesn’t look easy to use. Great job, Shake Shack!

Chipotle Scrambles To Woo Back Customers, Even As It Gets Sued By 10,000 Employees
By Cooking Panda
“I’m just a struggling burrito chain, standing in front of my fleeing customers, asking them to love me.”
Chipotle is so Julia Roberts in Notting Hill right now, y’all.
Actually, if we’re doing romantic movie comparisons (we are), Chipotle is more like the Titanic. It’s not Jack, if you’re wondering, or Rose — it’s the sinking ship.
On August 29, CNN reported that nearly 10,000 workers are suing Chipotle for allegedly cheating them on their pay, with current and former Chipotle employees claiming that the company forced them to work “off the clock hours” without compensation.
For anybody wondering, the technical term for that is wage theft — not cool, Chipotle.
“Chipotle routinely requires hourly-paid restaurant employees to punch out, and then continue working until they are given permission to leave,” reads the class action lawsuit known as Turner v. Chipotle, per CNN.
While Chipotle denies these claims, saying the case has no merit, this lawsuit is by far the largest class action case to date leveled against the company for wage theft. As of August 26, a staggering 9,961 current and former workers have sent in consent forms to join the lawsuit.
“Chipotle has argued this is a few rogue managers who aren’t following policy. Our view, especially given the number of people opting in, is that it’s a systematic problem at Chipotle,” lawyer Kent Williams of Williams Law Firm, who is representing the employees in Turner v. Chipotle, told CNN.
And that’s not all. Apparently, the company is so desperate to regain some semblance of control and rebuild its reputation (which plummeted after a series of public health crises) that it’s now focusing on wooing customers’ children.
Eater reports that according to an August 30 press release, children are now eligible to eat free at Chipotle every Sunday if they order with an adult who purchases a regular-priced entree; additionally, Chipotle is throwing in limited-edition activity sheets to accompany each of these free meals.
According to Eater, Chipotle spokesperson Chris Arnold notes that the company’s demographic “has been widening for some time,” adding that the chain has “always skewed young, but that [its consumer base has] been broadening as long-time customers get older and others have children that they bring to our restaurants.”
So what do you think? Is Chipotle’s latest bid to regain your trust (and money) worth it? Or are you on the side of the furious employees?burrito, Chipotle, free food, Lawsuit
You Can Now Win Free Starbucks For Life!
By Cooking Panda
It might just be the right time to take that Starbucks addiction of yours to the next level.
If you still regularly gripe about the coffee chain’s new rewards program, now might finally be the right time to change all of that for good. If you’re one of seven lucky people in the U.S. and Canada, you might just win free Starbucks for life.
Starting August 2, anyone who uses the Starbucks Rewards program (and you really should use it if you’re a semi-regular Starbucks customer, as it costs you nothing but earns you the occasional free drink) will score one free game piece when they purchase anything at a store using their Starbucks registered card or mobile app. You can enter twice per day, and if either of those purchases are for more than $10, you’ll get an extra game piece. This is what the board looks like:
Here are all the prizes you can win:
- Five U.S. customers and two Canadian ones will luck out with Starbucks for Life, the grand prize.
- 25 U.S. customers and five Canadian ones will win Starbucks for a Year.
- 125 lucky ducks in the U.S. and 25 in Canada get Starbucks for a Week.
- You can also win instant Bonus Stars — depending on your prize, you might get 125, 25, 10 or five Stars added to your account. Gold Members get a free food or drink item after every 125 stars that they earn.
We don’t mean to crush your dreams — free Starbucks is free Starbucks — but, according to Delish, “for life” in Starbucks-speak means only 30 years. Apparently they are expecting the winners to overdo it on their daily Trenta Frappuccino? We have no idea what the logic is here.
Also, you can only get one free drink or food item each day, so if you’re one of the lucky ones, make sure you choose wisely!coffee deals, free food, Free Starbucks, Starbucks, Starbucks for Life

Well…ok, technically, the National Hot Dog and Sausage Council (THIS IS A REAL THING) decreed that the frankfurter celebration is on July 14, but nobody listened — instead, food places are celebrating it on July 23, because that’s when it was last year, and, well they do what they want.
At any rate, we are super thrilled to get some sweet deals tomorrow.
Here’s where you can score big (Saturday, July 23 only), according to CNBC:

A little history:
As far as we can tell, the world’s first hot dog came from Frankfurt, Germany (as in, “frankfurter”) in 1487 — five years before Christopher Columbus sailed the ocean blue, according to the noble people at the National Hot Dog and Sausage Council. However, the hot dog’s origin is hotly contested by Austria, who says that they invented it first in Vienna, hence the name “wiener.”
Hot dogs first popped up in North America around the 1860s. They were originally called dachshund sausages and sold by German immigrants, although the hot dog likely evolved from a mixture of common European sausages that butchers brought over around that time. In case you were wondering.
Now that you know everything there is to know about hot dogs, it’s important that you eat them properly. Here’s how to make some awesome bacon Doritos hot dogs that the National Hot Dog and Sausage Council would absolutely not approve of — and, to be honest, that’s all the more reason to eat them:discount, free food, free hot dog, Hot Dog, National Hot Dog Day

Every cow has its day, I guess, and according to Chick-Fil-A, that day is July 12.
The fast-food chain will be celebrating its self-made “Cow Appreciation Day” on that day, and any customer who dresses like a cow will receive a free entree at one of the chain’s 2,000 restaurants nationwide.
“Adult customers who dress in any type of cow attire, whether it’s ‘head-to-hoof’ or sporting a cow-spotted accessory, will be rewarded with a free Chick-fil-A entree of their choice, such as an Original Chicken Sandwich, Grilled Chicken Cool Wrap or Chick-fil-A Chicken Biscuit,” reads the restaurant’s press release.
Additionally, children will receive a free Kid’s Meal if they dress in a cow costume.
“Cow Appreciation Day is the one day where it’s okay to dress ‘udderly’ crazy and get rewarded for it,” said Jon Bridges, Chick-fil-A’s senior vice president and chief marketing officer. “The event also affords our guests the chance to explore our menu, whether they want to try some of our newer, healthier menu options, such as our Grilled Chicken Sandwich or Grilled Nuggets, or go with a classic favorite like our Original Chicken Sandwich and Chicken Nuggets.”
The celebration will begin when the store opens (you should check your individual store listing for its specific hours), and last all the way through 7 p.m. local time.
Customers are also invited to visit www.CowAppreciationDay.com and share photos of their costumes on social media by using the hashtag #CowAppreciationDay.Chick-fil-A, cow appreciation day, free food
You Can Get Free Burgers For Life if You Do This One, Little Thing
By Cooking Panda
Want free burgers for life? Of course you do. We are delighted to announce that this is a dream you can realistically achieve. One restaurant is offering a burger a day for the rest of your life — there’s just one little thing you have to do.
Australian burger chain Mr. Burger announced that they will gladly give you seven burgers a week for your entire life if you do something for them. Imagine one of these every single day:
Looks tasty, doesn’t it? They can be yours every day until you die if you just do one favor for them — you have to legally change your last name to Burger. The company will even pay your application fee if you are courageous enough to go through with it. You have to be over 18, though.
“It’s 200 percent legit,” Mr. Burger marketing manager Maleik Edwards told Mashable Australia. “Too legit.”
You’ll need to complete the name change by July 31. Just email the confirmation over to the burger chain; the first 10 people to do so will be rewarded handsomely with the deal until such time as they die, they change their name back, or Mr. Burger goes out of business (we imagine).
Why on earth would an upscale fast food joint be doing this? Edwards said the company decided to do it because people need a change of pace from all the depressing, serious news stories that have been circulating recently.
“The media, the world, has been gripped with boring stuff such as Brexit and the election,” explained Edwards. “We as a company think people take life too seriously, and this is just a way to have some fun … It’ll also be fun to get a sports team of Burgers out there.”
It looks like nobody has taken the plunge so far, but we’re waiting eagerly to see if anyone does this. Maybe we’ll be the first.
