Bottles Of McDonald’s Big Mac Sauce Are Already On eBay
By Cooking Panda
While the Big Mac Sauce is supposed to be rare, it only makes sense that those who could get their hands on it would bump up the price and sell it on eBay. You won’t believe what people are paying for it.
Eater reports that after McDonald’s gave away 10,000 bottles of their Big Mac Special Sauce, it started popping up all over the bidding site. The cheapest bottle is priced at $20, but is also likely to go up after the seller learns how much he/she could be charging.
The most expensive bottle is listed at a ridiculous $50,000. Unless, of course, you want to buy it now, in which case you could get it for $100,000. You’d have to be pretty desperate for that sauce. Or, you could just want to help a good cause. The seller says that $10,000 of that price will be donated to the Third World Movement against the Exploitation of Women. This charity “provides services to women and children who are survivors of the sex trade in the Philippines, helping them to create a better life for themselves.” A worthy cause indeed, but if you’re only donating $10,000 to that charity, maybe the price could drop some? That’s a lot of cushioning, after all.
Then again, you can put your money in a better place, by helping McDonald’s donate to charity, and it will probably cost a lot less. The fast food chain says it will be taking bids on an extra bottle of sauce to benefit the Ronald McDonald House Charities. Those charities have local branches all over, but according to their website, the mission is absolute. They keep families with sick children close to each other and help provide care and resources. I think that’s a cause anyone can get behind.
You don’t have to buy an expensive bottle of Special Sauce to donate to charities, though. You can do that anyway. Don’t let missing out on a bottle of sauce keep you from doing that! However … if you have an extra $50,000 lying around, by all means buy a bottle of Special Sauce for a good cause.Big Mac Sauce, mcdonald's, McDonald's Special Sauce
McDonald’s Is Giving Away Bottles Of Big Mac Sauce!
By Cooking Panda
McDonald’s is revamping its Big Mac sandwich, and as a way to market this new move, the fast food chain will be giving away free bottles of its famous Big Mac Special Sauce!
Foodbeast reports that McDonald’s had hinted at this bold move by saying we should expect “something big” to happen on Jan. 26, 2017. That something big turned out to be 10,000 bottles of limited-edition Big Mac Sauce. This is the first time the U.S. has ever had this offer. Australia got it last time, so now it’s our turn!
According to USA Today, this offer comes just after a McDonald’s study reported that only one in five millennials has actually tried a Big Mac. The new sizes offered will include a smaller size for the calorie-conscious and a larger size with extra cheese for those craving to over-indulge. Perhaps the health-conscious millennials will give the smaller sandwich a try?
If you think this isn’t a big deal because Big Mac Sauce is only Thousand Island dressing, you are thankfully mistaken. McDonald’s spokeswoman Becca Hary says “the Big Mac Sauce is unique to McDonald’s and includes a classic combination of ingredients. The Big Mac Sauce remains timeless and customers around the world continue to enjoy its signature taste.”
So, there you have it. The Big Mac Sauce is an entity of its own, something we could have probably guessed, since Thousand Island dressing never quite does the trick.
The rare limited-edition bottles of Big Mac Sauce will be available only at participating locations, which will be announced on Jan. 25. That’s such a last-minute announcement that all you can really do is cross your fingers and hope one of those locations is nearby! Maybe, if you live in a rural area or in the burbs, you can at least try and high tail it to the nearest city. That’s a better chance, at least, I would imagine.
In the meantime, let’s get in the Big Mac spirit and start indulging, big or small!
Update: Foodbeast reports that McDonald’s has just developed an iMessage app for finding out exactly which locations will be giving out free limited-edition bottles of Big Mac Special Sauce. Check out this page for more details!big mac, Big Mac Sauce, mcdonald's
Sriracha Sauce Is Coming To A McDonald’s Near You
By Cooking Panda
Now you can enjoy the taste of Sriracha at the Golden Arches.
An exclusive Sriracha Big Mac sauce has debuted at McDonald’s restaurants throughout San Diego, Los Angeles, and Seattle, combining two iconic flavors as part of the Signature Crafted Sandwich menu.
“The combination of Sriracha with our iconic Big Mac Sauce is the perfect blend of ingredients that speaks to our flavor fans who love Sriracha,” Chef Michael Haracz, Manager of Culinary Innovation at McDonald’s USA, said in a company press release. “Summer is the perfect time to enjoy great food that will please your taste buds.”
The Signature Sriracha sandwich includes the Sriracha Big Mac sauce, white cheddar cheese, onions, baby spinach, baby kale, and tomatoes. Customers in San Diego and Los Angeles can choose from Pico Guacamole, Maple Bacon Dijon, Deluxe or the new Signature Sriracha, while customers throughout Seattle will be able to pick from Pico Guacamole, Sweet BBQ Bacon or new Signature Sriracha.
“Signature Sriracha provides our customers with an exclusive blend of two wildly popular flavors, Sriracha and Big Mac Special Sauce, creating a spicy flavor in a way only McDonald’s can do,” said Bob Sutherland, president of the San Diego County McDonald’s Owner/Operators Association. “The new flavor and Signature Crafted menu are just a few of the many ways we’re changing to meet the evolving needs of our customers.”
The limited-edition Signature Sriracha Big Mac sauce is currently available at participating locations in San Diego and Los Angeles, and will debut in Seattle on July 7.
McDonald’s is just one of several companies that have attempted to introduce the beloved Sriracha sauce into their products over the past few years. Naturally, some products were better received than others.
Taco Bell, another fast-food rival, introduced several Sriracha items into its menu at Kansas City-area stores in 2014.
While trying several new flavors from Pizza Hut’s menu, the reviewer from The Consumerist had mixed emotions about the Sriracha-inspired offering.
“The Sweet Sriracha Dynamite features a Honey Sriracha sauce with a Honey Sriracha crust edge and honey Sriracha sauce drizzle,” the article said. “Something told me I was supposed to be tasting honey and Sriracha and I just felt kind of bossed around.”
