  • 1 pound dried pasta (such as spaghetti, thin spaghetti, angel hair, or linguine)

  • 3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil

  • 1 clove garlic (thinly sliced)

  • 1/3 cup green olives, sliced

  • 1-2 cans tuna in olive oil (5-10 ounces)

  • 2-3 cups marinara sauce, to taste

  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes

    1. Boil the pasta according to the package instructions.

    2. While that’s happening, in a large skillet heat the olive oil. Saute the garlic until lightly golden.
    3. Add the olives and the tuna, and cook 2 to 3 minutes.
    4. Add the marinara sauce and the chili flakes. Cook 5-6 minutes to thicken, over low heat.

    5. Add the cooked pasta to the pan and toss to coat.
    6. Turn the heat off and serve immediately.

    I make this often, although many times people will look at me as if I’m nuts when I tell them about it! I use capers instead of olives is the ONLY difference! It is outstanding!
