Sausage Cheddar Pasta

  • 8 ounces bowtie pasta

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

  • 1 1/2 cups diced onion

  • 1 pound turkey sausage, sliced

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 cup chicken broth

  • 1 (10-ounce) can diced tomatoes

  • 1/2 cup heavy cream

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

  • Sliced scallions, for garnish

    1. Cook pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
    2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add onions and sausage. Cook until sausage has lightly browned.
    3. Stir in garlic and cook for 30 seconds.
    4. Add chicken broth, diced tomatoes, heavy cream, salt, pepper and pasta. Stir to combine. Simmer together for 15 minutes.
    5. Remove from heat and stir in cheddar cheese until fully melted.
    6. Garnish with scallions, serve and enjoy!
