Covered in melted cheese, peppers, mushrooms, and onions, this tender sliced steak is going to make you fall in love with it. And you can play around with it, serve it on a slice of bread or anything you can get your hands on.
This is the simplest way to make Philly Cheesesteak, it’s one of those meals that just take you back, has stronger flavors and lower carbs than the regular version of it. You could serve up to four people with it and it’s ready within half an hour, what better way to do dinner than with an easy and tasty recipe?
We are using the traditional ingredients, a nicely sliced steak, mushrooms, red and green peppers, oil, white onions, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and provolone or mozzarella cheese.
The first thing we are going to do is to heat a pan/skillet at medium heat and spread some vegetable oil on in once it’s hot. We want to cook our steak on both sides, make sure it’s nice and brown before removing the steak.
On the same skillet, you are going to add the sliced mushrooms and let them cook until tender for about 5 minutes. Add in the remaining vegetables also sliced, onions, peppers, a dash of salt, and some garlic powder. Then add a bit of water.
Remove any browned parts from your pan and let everything cook for another 5 minutes, you should check and make sure your vegetables are tender before moving to the next step.
Now you want to bring back your sliced and well-cooked steak, let it heat and cook for 3 minutes top and then top it with your chosen cheese and let it melt.
Once everything is looking and smelling about right, it’s time to turn off the heat, serve it on top of white rice, cauliflower rice, or if you want your traditional Philly cheesesteak sandwich, place it on a toasted baguette or soft roll for a more traditional bite.
