Banana-Nut Waffle Cake

If you ever find yourself in need of a cake, do you buy an expensive cake? Or do you try to make one yourself? Baking a cake can be daunting. Luckily this recipe is fairly easy… easier than an actual cake that is for sure. With real cakes everything has to be so precise and perfect. And when it’s done it’s not even pretty until you decorate it, and decorating a cake is no piece of cake (excuse the pun)… especially if you don’t have the right tools. Who even has the extra time and money to buy the tools and learn to decorate a cake? Well… besides professional bakers that is. All I know is I sure don’t.

That’s why I love this recipe. The prep time is only 25 minutes and the cook time is only 20 minutes. One of the best parts is the waffles can be kept in the fridge until you feel like putting everything together.

This recipe consists of a simple but delicious waffle recipe, a butterscotch syrup recipe, and the suggested toppings.

For the waffles you first whisk the dry ingredients, then mix the wet ingredients, then mix it all together and bake it in a waffles iron. The syrup is a little more difficult and is done in a saucepan, but with the directions provided anyone can make this amazing syrup. The last step in the cake is putting it all together, which is simply layering it all like a tower. This is definitely a recipe I will be keeping in mind the next time I’m in need of a cake… or tomorrow… I might make this tomorrow….
