Pillsbury Releases Chocolate Funfetti Cake, Other Funfetti Flavors

The Pillsbury Funfetti line is getting out of control! The baking brand released a Funfetti Chocolate Cake and Cupcake Mix, an extension of their super popular Funfetti cake mix. Pillsbury’s website said it “adds a yummy pop of color and chocolate deliciousness to brighten up your celebration!” It sounds just like its older sister.

This new flavor uses a chocolate base instead of Funfetti’s original vanilla base—and also uses a dash of our own hopes and dreams. Because we’ve been wanting this cake mix for a long time. Funfetti is nearly 30 years old—how are we just seeing a chocolate mix now?!

But we appreciate this news all the same and can’t wait to whip up a batch of these ASAP. Get the Funfetti Chocolate Cake mix in a store closest to you using the Pillsbury store finder.

Did you know Pillsbury also has a Funfetti Strawberry Cake mix and Yellow Cake mix? These are new releases, too, and will certainly ramp up your selection of baked treats. Whoa—just thought of something: a Neapolitan Funfetti cake with vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry Funfetti layers. Mind. Seriously. Blown.

Another under-the-radar Funfetti treat you could make for yourself while staying at home: New Funfetti Complete Pancake and Waffle Mix. Sprinkles in waffles? Who would do such a thing? We would.

Funfetti also added new Funfetti frosting colors, growing their list of the sweet stuff to a whopping 13. The new flavors are Funfetti Galaxy Space Blue Vanilla Frosting, featuring a rocket, star, and moon sprinkles, and Funfetti Unicorn Vanilla Frosting, which has—you guessed it—multicolored unicorn sprinkles.

With more and more Funfetti items popping up, we can’t help but celebrate it all with some Funfetti cupcakes. Even if it’s just a party for one!
