Australia's tasty chocolate Tim Tam biscuits are officially available in the U.S., so if you haven't had a chance to try them, now's the time!

Huffington Post reports that they're here to stay, too. "Tim Tam is available just in time for Australia Day, this Thursday, January 26, [2017],” a Tim Tam spokesperson told Huffington Post via email. “Tim Tam biscuits are available nationwide in all major supermarkets, grocery stores and mass merchandisers.”

If you aren't familiar with Tim Tam, you can check out the website to learn why they say "It's Not A Cookie. It's a Tim Tam [biscuit]." The biscuit is crunchy and chocolatey outside with a creamy chocolate center, and then it's covered in chocolate as well. Tim Tam comes in four flavors: Original, Classic Dark, Dark Mint and Chewy Caramel.

Target says that it has had Tim Tam biscuits since January of 2015, but this announcement means they are available in many more locations. If you go to the website and choose "Where to Buy," and enter your zip code, you'll see what I mean. Personally, I can see that they are available at Giant grocery stores, Target and Safeway. I'm practically surrounded! You can even search based on the flavor you'd like to try. There isn't any Dark Mint around me, but I can get Original and Chewy Caramel.

Once you get your hands on some Tim Tams, you have to try and enjoy them the way many Australians do -- by performing the "Tim Tam Slam." This method of enjoying the biscuit is well known on social media with the hash tag #timtamslam. You can do the Tim Tam Slam by biting the end pieces off of a biscuit, and putting one end of the remaining biscuit in your mouth and the other end in a warm drink (coffee, most likely) and use the Tim Tam as a straw.

When you start feeling the drink on your tongue, you have to hurry and pop the Tim Tam in your mouth before it melts! This is the type of thing to spice up coffee breaks in Australia, and now in the U.S. as well.
