Hostess Brands and Zipcar are offering cupcake lovers a sweet ride and sweet treats for National Chocolate Cupcake Day.

The ride-sharing network Zipcar and bakery company Hostess, known for its Twinkies and Ding Dongs, have teamed up in celebration of National Chocolate Cupcake Day. Their mission: To Zipcar around the Boston area in a cupcake-inspired Zipcar and to give away a year’s worth of free Hostess cupcakes.

To win, you’ll have to correctly guess how many Hostess cupcakes could fit in the cupcake-inspired Zipcar. And for guessing calculations, it helps to consider the type of car.

The Zipcar is a Ford Focus hatchback, modeled after a Hostess Chocolate Cupcake; it has a shiny, chocolate-brown exterior, replete with a 3-D replica of the cupcake’s “Original Squiggle.” The fuzzy white steering wheel cover and matching fluffy seat covers are an ode to Hostess’ Chocolate Cupcake cream filling, and it even has a chocolate-scented air freshener for an added panache (or ganache?)

According to Food & Wine, if you are a Zipcar member who lives in the Boston area, you can reserve an exclusive driving experience in the National Cupcake Day-themed ride through the “Hostess Chocolate Cupcakes” app. Reserve your seat between Oct. 17 and Oct. 19 and you just might get a sweet ride in the cupcake mobile, which is probably the only real way to observe this very important holiday.

Play the numbers game and you just might win a year’s supply of cupcakes.

According to Hostess’ Facebook announcement, you can enter to win by tweeting your guess with “#BuckleYourSweetBelt” before 3 p.m. EDT on Oct. 19! One very lucky winner will be selected by Friday, Oct. 27, and notified via Twitter about claiming their cupcake winnings.

The number of submitted guesses range from 1,000 to 120,000 cupcakes so the winner could be anybody. One Facebook user brought up an important question about the cupcakes — are we counting individually wrapped cupcakes or boxes? Hostess did not respond with an answer, but commented “True CupCake strategist.”

Better start counting!
