While the decriminalization of marijuana use, both for recreational and medicinal purposes, is still a growing subject, the market for it is booming. In the right states, of course.

BrewBudz is one of the businesses that has sprouted up from the new laws. Westword reports that this company is selling coffee, tea and cocoa Keurig-style pods containing different amounts of THC or CBD. "It's an opportunity to bring together two different rituals in life," says BrewBudz Vice President Jeffry Paul. "Drinking coffee or tea is something that's part of your everyday ... There's also a ritual for marijuana, whether it's medicinal or recreational."

While weed is known for having medical uses to help those with Parkinson’s disease and certain cancers, it’s also popular among recreational users for helping with stress and anxiety. And almost all of us have coffee at some point in the day. I guess it’s only natural to mix the two where it’s possible.

Pods are 100 percent compostable, made out of the shell of the coffee bean that is usually thrown away in the coffee-making process. Colors on the tops of the pods indicate the amount of THC or CBD in milligrams so that users won’t get them mixed up. Recreational pods have 10 milligrams THC while medicinal users get pods with 25-50 milligrams CBD, depending on their need.

According to Metro News, the company has explained that you can’t get the same effect just by putting weed in your coffee. “In the brewing process the right amount of water is introduced at the proper temperature by the brewer which creates a mini storm in the pod. This turbulence extracts the fine flavor from your premium beverage and all of the healing elements from the cannabis,” BrewBudz says.

That means, don’t try to do this yourself at home. Just get the pods! Of course, that depends on what state you’re in, but you get my point. Pods will be about $7.00 each when they’re available, and will be sold in six states starting out. Keep an eye out for them between now and March 2017 if you’re interested.
