The air is heavy with competition, as cereal bigwigs — Kellogg’s, General Mills, Quaker Oats — vie for the attention of many children, millennials and beyond. And if there had to be a winner, Kellogg’s Unicorn Froot Loops would take home Best In Show, if such a contest existed.

Kellogg’s “unicorned” version of Froot Loops, which itself is already a smattering of rainbow colors, features subdued hues, a spectrum of “pastel shades that certainly make for an impressive Instagram shot,” according to Refinery29.

Redesigning and remarketing products to the latest trends is a fate that all companies seem to fall into, and the unicorn craze tops the list. Take Starbucks’ Unicorn Frappuccino, which if anything, pioneered the unicorn craze from fashion into food.

Michaela Mayoh, brand manager for cereal marketing UK and ROI, told Metro UK, “the appeal of limited edition character takeovers on the pack and embracing current trends is something that works well in store and is popular with our consumers.”

This updated, multi-colored Instagrammable Unicorn cereal will certainly capture the attention of many aesthetic-seekers, to achieve what exactly, remains a mystery. One Instagram user already has her Unicorn breakfast station set up, replete with complementary colors and tea-party florals.

The craze is understandable. Unicorn cereal is really pretty! It dazzles and sparkles! And according to Metro UK, the cereal is “fortified with useful minerals and vitamins, such as vitamins C, B, calcium, and iron.” It’s unicorn food: technicolored, enchanting, mythical even. And healthy.

Also, check out the limited edition cereal box, below. Hats off to the designers who created this fabulous, “Teen-Voguey” cereal box design. A style that’s halfway “Lisa Frank” or “My Little Pony,” which of the two stands out most? Well, that’s up to you, but it will definitely appeal to a wide audience, including children-at-hearts and well, actual children.

One Instagrammer christened Unicorn Froot Loops as the #breakfastofchampions, and took a break from “adulting” whilst dressed in a Mickey Mouse onesie. Maybe there’s something in these magical Froot Loops, temporarily transforming adults into children.

The cereal is currently available only in the U.K., but maybe the magic will spread across the pond and hit U.S. shelves soon. One can only wish.
