If you ask us, coconut is one of the most delicious foods on earth. It’s creamy, rich, and the perfect addition to everything from Thai curry to decadent layer cakes. Unfortunately, however, if you’ve ever tried to open a fresh coconut, you know how difficult it can be. Before you can even access the hard shell, you have to get past the thick, tough, fibrous husk—a Herculean task in and of itself (video below).

Luckily, thanks to Kap Te’o-Tafiti, a performer at Hawaii’s Polynesian Cultural Center, we now have an (seemingly) easy way to get past that notorious husk and access the inner goodness of fresh coconuts. A video of Te’o-Tafiti demonstrating how to husk a coconut with only his teeth recently went viral, earning him the nickname “the Polynesian Old Spice Guy” and impressing viewers world-wide.

Te’o-Tafiti, who serves as a cultural ambassador for the Polynesian Cultural Center told the “Huffington Post” that his method is “one of the oldest and most convenient ways of getting to the edible parts of a coconut.” Personally, we think it looks incredibly difficult, but there’s no accounting for talent. While we recommend contacting your orthodontist before attempting the trick as home, you can watch the whole video below for the full spectacle!
