Are you getting your five to nine servings of fruits and veggies a day?

These days, consumers are super interested in increasing their health and wellness levels; we all want the best nutrients for our bodies, and to operate at our optimal levels. We want to feel good, look good, live better and for longer, and for our children to do the same.

That’s why Food Navigator reports that in 2017, vegetable juices will see a surge in popularity, as more and more people turn to veggie juice as an easy and tasty way to reduce their sugar intake, as well as increasing their nutrition.

Matt Herzog, president of international juice maker Biotta’s U.S. distributor, told Food Navigator that health-conscious consumers are on the hunt “for all natural ways to address health conditions, rather than having to depend on expensive, chemical-laden prescription medications or unregulated supplements.

“Most recently, consumers have become more interested in vegetable juices, which offer a multitude of functional benefits.”

So, let’s get specific: What are the actual benefits of drinking veggie juice?

Biotta’s website lists its products as being organic, non-GMO, vegan and never from concentrate. The drinks are all excellent-to-good sources of potassium (which is essential for our bodies growth and maintenance), they are high in vitamin A, they can help stimulate digestion thanks to natural lactic acid, and they are naturally sweet — meaning they do not contain any added sugar.

“This is becoming more appealing to consumers for a variety of reasons. First, they are trying to reduce their overall sugar consumption, paying more attention to the ingredients on packaged goods, and looking for hidden sources of added sugar,” Herzog told Food Navigator.
