Ingredients

Have you ever had a stout so nice, thick and sweet yet complex that it actually tasted better than dessert?

We detect skepticism. That's ok. We're not here to convince you to give up your beloved sweets, so you can rest easy. You can bring them with you on this drinking venture, by all means. But we are about to change everything, because your favorite cookie has been beerified.

That's right: New York-based Southern Tier Brewing Company just announced that they are adding to their deliciously desserty Blackwater Series, which includes hits like Creme Brulee, Choklat and Mokah imperial stouts, according to Beer Street Journal. The new flavor? Thick Mint.

Yes, just like the Thin Mint Girl Scout cookie. The strong imperial stout is a nice 10 percent ABV, and it is brewed with cocoa nibs and mint, so we're hoping it has a pretty strong Thin Mint taste to it.

According to the brewery's Instagram page, the Thick Mint beer is just sweet enough without being overbearing and has a perfect "chocolate/mint balance." We can only hope!

"We made big waves when we introduced Choklat in 2007," reads the Thick Mint packaging. "Since then, our affection for decadent, flavorful, dessert-like beers and a zeal to venture into the far corners of the flavor world, have been the drivers in our endless quest to brew the perfect indulgence. Our dessert beers are a fusion of exotic flavors, making each of them a perfect pairing when you are craving an exceptional stout full of personality."

Ideally, enjoy this brew after dinner with vanilla ice cream and/or shortbread cookies. Or, you know, whatever tickles your fancy.

You can pick this delicious dessert beer up in bottles and on tap, if you live near enough to the New York brewery, or you can head over to their brand-new second brewpub in Pittsburgh, which just opened and will have a few unique options that aren't available at their flagship New York location, according to their website.
