A woman said she was at a Harlem Popeyes and found a rat's head in her food.

Ingredients

It's pretty annoying when you painstakingly order your food one way, and then you are given something entirely different from what you asked for. Whether said mistake violates your food allergies, dietary restrictions or even just personal taste, it can be a real bother when you are given something you didn't order.

But look at this way: At least you are not Rosemary Thomas and her family (unless you are, in which case we are so, SO sorry, Thomas family). During a recent trip to Popeyes Chicken in Harlem, New York, with her sister, daughter and niece, Thomas got way more than she bargained for when they ordered regular ol' fried chicken and got THIS instead:

A woman said she was at a Harlem Popeyes and found a rat's head in her food.

WHAT. IS. THAT.

"Friends and family, this is a meal Popeyes in Harlem served my daughter, my niece and sister," Thomas wrote on Facebook on Sept. 18. "This is clearly a rat and they have the nerve to have a 5 rating by the department of health."

Thomas said that she sent the photo to a news source but hasn't been contacted yet, so she decided to share it on social media instead.

"People please [feel] free to share this picture," she wrote. "Think about all the other rat that have been served and the lasting effect this will have on my daughter, niece and sister."

Thomas wrote on Facebook that she brought home the definitely-not-a-chicken-thigh and that it is "as gross at it looks."

"My daughter is traumatized," Thomas said, according to DNA Info. "I had to take her to urgent care last night, vomited with diarrhea all day."

The offending Popeyes location has an "A" grade rating from the city's Department of Health and Mental Hygiene after passing a routine inspection in April. However, the restaurant was reportedly written up at least three times in the last three years after authorities found "evidence of mice or live mice present in facility's food and/or non-food areas," according to the New York Daily News.

Popeyes spokeswoman Renee Kopowski said that the corporate office is working with the particular location and will address the problem. She also said that Thomas was asked to bring her "chicken" back to the restaurant, speak to local authorities and hand over the "meal" for testing.
