This Pizza Features Over 100 Kinds Of Cheese
By Cooking Panda
I don’t know why, but whenever I stumble across a piece of news like this, I feel a little giddy. It reminds me that there are real people out there (just like you and me) who are committed to doing amazing things, and for that I am grateful.
For example, the good folks over at Scottie’s Pizza Parlor in Oregon have come up with a new pizza pie that features over 100 different varieties of cheese on it.
Like, on just the one pizza –100 different kinds of cheese.
According to Huffington Post, the new pizza hit the parlor just in time for the 2017 Portland Pizza Week, and was made in honor of the “Nina Turtles.”
Even though it was only available for one measly day, they somehow were able to sling it at a scant $2 per slice, which means that constumers were getting a huge amount of lactose-bang for their buck.
“The Centouno Formaggio pizza is inspired by the Novantanove Formaggio (99-cheese) pizza which was depicted in 2014’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film,” Scottie’s website said. “The year of the film’s release, world champion pizzamaker Johnny di Francesco of 400 Gradi Pizzeria in Melbourne, Australia created a 99-cheese pizza, simply to prove that it was not a ‘culinary impossibility,’ as exclaimed by Donatello in the film.”
Culinary impossibility, shmulinary shimpossibility!
Owner Scott Rivera also admitted to Huffington Post that it’s totally possible that more than 101 cheeses were actually used to make up the pizza; he lost count during the construction of the culinary monstrosity — er, I mean, miracle.
“All the cheeses in the 100 cheese pizza are really nice cheese,” Rivera assured Huffington Post. “Our cheese supplier is a huge cheese buff and worked really hard selecting them for us. He tasted every single one.”
I can’t imagine how his stomach felt after ingesting all of that cheese.
What do you think of the 100-cheese pizza pie? Would you make a special trek to try that kind of creation, or are you happy to stick with your regular slice?100 cheese pizza, cheese pizza, Oregon, Pizza, scottie's pizza parlor
