This Pimple Cake Might Be The Grossest Cake Ever (Photos)

The latest innovation in cake-making is definitely either best thing I’ve ever seen, or the worst thing I’ve ever seen. I’m not sure which, but I’m leaning toward the latter.

If you happen to be obsessed with gross things, then you’ll adore this NASTY — but somehow adorable at the same time — pimple-popping cake, which is getting more popular by the day.

You can pick this monstrosity up from The Cakescape, the bakery responsible for this nauseating yet exhilarating dessert, which has little cake pimples that you can actually “pop” with your fingers for some sick, delicious satisfaction.

Take a look:

I feel queasy just thinking about it — let alone looking at it — and I’m not totally sure I’d taste anything other than pus.

Could you stomach a slice of this?

According to Mashable, The Cakescape, which is located in Malaysia, sold around 20 of these cakes in the last year, but it’s rapidly gaining popularity. Most people buy them for bachelorette parties and other occasions where it’s somewhat acceptable to gross out your guests.

While simultaneously cute and awful, this isn’t the first of its kind. Earlier in 2016, California cake and pastry shop Blessed By Baking crafted some graphic pimple-popping cupcakes with flesh colored fondant that had pink holes in the center where you could squeeze out lemon curd or custard that looked a whole lot like pus, notes The Daily Mail.

The lucky recipient? Dr. Sandra Lee, aka Dr. Pimple Popper, the lady who posts those icky yet satisfying videos of her popping the most horrendous zits and cysts you’ve ever seen.

But why do we do this to ourselves anyway?

“I think watching popping is similar to seeing a scary movie or riding a roller coaster for some,” said Lee, according to HuffPost. “You get a rush of euphoria and excitement.”

And in the case of pimple cakes, a sugar high.
