Nearly 20 Years Later, Name Of JonBenet Ramsey’s Killer Emerges

Nearly 20 years after the murder of 6-year-old beauty queen JonBenet Ramsey, the investigator hired by her parents says he knows who the murderer really is.
Ollie Gray, an investigator hired by the Ramsey family, said in an interview with InTouch that he believes Michael Helgoth, who was 26 years old at the time of the murder, killed JonBenet.
“Based on what we know, I believe Helgoth and his accomplices committed the crime,” Gray told InTouch.
John Kenady, who used to work for Helgoth, also told the magazine that Helgoth was responsible for the killing.
“There was a tape recording made by Helgoth,” Kenady said. “And in it, he said he killed JonBenet.”
Kenady told the magazine the tape still exists and has been overlooked by police throughout the investigation, according to the Daily Mail.
JonBenet was killed on Christmas day 1996, in Boulder, Colorado. The investigation has been ongoing since her death.
Kenady says he first became suspicious of Helgoth roughly a month before JonBenet’s murder, when he says Helgoth told him that “he and a partner were going to make a great deal and they each will bring in around $50,000 or $60,000,” reports CBS show “48 Hours.”
“I will never forget they were walking toward his house and he said, ‘I wonder what it would be like to crack a human skull,'” Kenady told InTouch. “I was amazed. I thought it was a very odd thing to say.”
Hours after being reported missing, JonBenet’s body was found strangled and bludgeoned. She was covered with a white blanket and had a nylon cord around her neck. Her mouth was covered in duct tape and her wrist were tied above her head. Her skull was also cracked.
JonBenet’s parents, John and Patsy Ramsey, called police to report their daughter was missing after finding a ransom note asking for $118,000 for her return. The note asked that they not contact the authorities.
John and Patsy were the primary suspects in the case until 2008, when police cleared their names. Patsy died in 2006 from ovarian cancer.
Helgoth died of an apparent suicide in 1997, though Kenady believes he was murdered by an accomplice. A gun found at the scene of his suicide was on the right side of the body, but the bullet hole reportedly went from left to right.
“He was murdered to keep his mouth shut,” Kenady claims.
Helgoth was cleared several years later after investigators say none of his DNA was found at the scene.
Both Gray and Kenady believe Helgoth is responsible for JonBenet’s murder.Tags: john kenady, JonBenet Ramsey, michael helgoth, Murder, ollie gray
