Mom Claims Wendy’s Gave Daughter Marijuana-Dusted Fries

A Wendy’s in Huber Heights, Ohio, is under inspection after a woman named Dezeray Risner says she recently received an order of fries from the fast-food chain that was dusted not with salt, like one might expect, but with marijuana.
As My Dayton Daily News reports, Risner claimed she stopped by the Wendy’s restaurant on Oct. 11 with the intention of grabbing some food for her 4-year-old daughter to munch on that evening.
After a few bites, Risner claims her daughter quickly complained, saying that her fries “tasted funny and were ‘yucky,'” per the Huber Heights police report.
Risner’s daughter reportedly attends a daycare right next door to the Wendy’s in question; unfortunately, she says her daughter only began complaining after they had traveled 10 to 15 minutes away from the fast-food chain.
“So I told her to spit it in my hand, (and) I just kind of reached my arm back,” Risner said. “She did and when I looked at it, you could see it. It was chewed up with the french fries. There was the weed in there, the wrap that it goes in or whatever. I freaked out.”
Concerned, the police report states that Risner called the Wendy’s, but the manager claimed nobody at the store had marijuana. So, Risner took the matter to the police department to report the incident.
While two of the Wendy’s employees admitted to smoking marijuana, nobody was found to have any drugs after a police officer performed a consent search on the shift manager and three employees.
“I shouldn’t have to check my child’s food for drugs,” Risner said. “That wasn’t professional at all. … My biggest issue right now is to acknowledge it. Apologize. And if it has to go farther, than it will go farther, but that’s not my concern right now.”
Since the incident, Wendy’s has released the following statement:
”Please know all of our customers as well as the quality and integrity of our food are a top priority at Wendy’s and we are taking this very seriously. We are currently conducting a thorough internal investigation and the Human Resource and Legal departments are both fully cooperating with police in their investigation. We will get to the bottom of this issue as soon as possible. It is as important to us as it is to the community.”fast food, French fries, Marijuana, Wendy's
