McDonald’s Is Getting Into The Nacho Cheese Game
By Cooking Panda
Think of some of your favorite cheesy snacks, like mac and cheese bites or jalapeno poppers. Now, consider that the center is made of nacho cheese and the crispy outside is made of crushed tortilla chips.
This is what McDonald’s is introducing in the UK, and it’s called Spicy Nacho Cheese Wedges. According to Brand Eating, one order comes with four pieces filled with jalapeno bits, nacho cheese and a fried outer shell consisting of flour, breadcrumbs and tortilla chips. They are served with a side of sour cream and chives for dipping.
This new appetizer, snack or side dish, whatever you’d like it to be, is available in participating stores after 10:30 a.m.
I’m not sure why this is available only in the UK, but Cheap Foods reports that McDonald’s has been adding a lot to some of the menus among different countries. Take the South African Stack, for example. It debuted from Oct. 12-25 and featured beechwood smoked bacon, pepper jack cheese and hot & spicy mayo in a glazed paprika topped bun.
Then there’s the Mexican Stack with beechwood smoked bacon, pepper jack cheese and tangy mango sauce on a glazed paprika topped bun. This new burger will be available from Nov. 9-22 in Mexico. If you’re vacationing during this time and missing the taste of a burger, you should try this one for both a taste of home and a little something different.
Finally, McDonald’s is releasing a “Thai Special,” complete with a fried chicken fillet, red onions and Thai mayo in a toasted bun, available in participating stores after 10:30 a.m., just like the nacho cheese wedges.
What I want to know is where are the U.S. versions of any of these? Particularly the Mexican Stack (yum!).
There’s even a new McFlurry for UK locations as well. It features ice cream swirled with mini Maltesers cluster pieces and chocolate sauce. The best comparison to Maltesers (if you’re not familiar) is malted milk duds. Maybe we can enjoy something new and different from McDonald’s in the United States in the near future.mcdonald's, Nacho Cheese Wedges, UK
