If summer 2017 had a motto, it would be crafted into a string-lit Pinterest-inspired DIY sign that spelled out: “Rosé all day.”
But, summer is rolling to an end. It’s time to put away the mardi gras beads, the plastic sunglasses, and take out the plaid scarves and button-ups. Trade stories around the fireplace, rather than the campfire. Rosé is of the bygone era, guys.
And I know this for a fact because Forty Ounce Wines, the same company that brought us Rosé Forty, just introduced Forty Ounce Red, officially announcing summer’s end and fall’s beginning.
I mean, if you think about it, red wine is just a darker, sultry cousin of rosé, and Forty Ounce Red won’t knock you out (blame the tannins). This red is also a little more “enlightened” too, compared to its counterparts. According to the jumbo bottle, this red is sustainably grown and made without any “extras” like chemical treatments and synthetic products.
Also, it’s always a good idea to know the details about the wine you’re drinking, beforehand. Forty Ounce Red is made with Gamay grapes that come from Northern France. That’s one fact for you. And another one: this wine is a light-bodied, dry, slightly savory red. Now, if anyone asks you about the lovely wine you brought to dinner, you’ve got the facts (Note: pinkies up!)
Red wine can be pretty costly, but not so with Forty Ounce Red; a bottle will run you about $16, according to Cosmopolitan, which is a bargain! Don’t get too excited because you and your pals might need to get a little scrappy. There’s only about 4,800 cases made, so if I were you, I’d round up a strong-willed crew, then divide and conquer. I suggest starting at the official website and searching for available stock near you.
