Forget The PSL: Starbucks’ New Brunch Menu Is Your New Favorite Thing
By Cooking Panda
As if any of us needed an additional excuse to go and visit a coffee shop (is anybody else’s caffeine addiction slowly getting out of hand?), the popular coffee chain Starbucks is officially testing out a brunch menu — and it doesn’t look half bad.
According to Starbucks Melody, an unofficial Starbucks news site, the chain began covertly conducting brunch trials at 78 Portland- and Seattle-area locations on Aug. 27. The menu is available only on weekends, and includes classic brunch staples like baked French toast, cage-free-egg quiches (either spinach and Swiss, or bacon and Swiss), as well as the crown jewel: Belgian waffles loaded with fresh blueberries, syrup, and powdered sugar.
Although Melody notes that Starbucks representatives have informed her that the brunch trials do not have a definitive end date, Melody guesses that the trial will likely last for six to eight weeks.
For now, customers in the area can order brunch items on weekends anytime from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., or as long as supplies lasts.
According to Melody, Starbucks’ employees have confirmed that the company has conducted a similar, separate test of weekend brunch waffles back in the spring, so it is likely that they are here to stay.
