Ready for something spooky? Head on over to PUB Dread and stay for a cocktail or two … if you dare!
The pop-up bar is running until Oct. 31, and it’s jam-packed with all things spooky.
“Halloween is perfect because there’s a million different things you can do,” bar owner Derek Brown told The Washingtonian. “You have this wonderful mix of camp, sci-fi, and horror that just make it really fun.”
Inside, you’ll find such things as a haunted forest (featuring a recycled Weirwood tree from the same spot’s previous “Game of Thrones” pop-up), a crypt full of the employee’s tombstones, a suuuper creepy room full of dolls that are DEFINITELY WATCHING EVERYTHING, robots and a glam outer space area dedicated to the late great Starman himself, David Bowie. Oh, and there’s also a section dedicated to what Brown called “all these movies where people are just floating out in space.”
“There’s a whole assortment of things that are going to be looking at you,” explained Matt Fox of Drink Company, who helped plan the project.
Thirsty? You can order 10 different seasonal, spooky drinks, according to Delish. Here are a few of them:
- Brains! has Alexandro Sherry Blend, Brandy de Jerez, Luxardo Maraschino,Cinnamon Grapefruit Oleo, Fig and Lime.
- David S. Pumpkins has Aged Rum, Two James Doctor Bird Jamaican Rum, Martell VS Cognac, Sherry Blend, Allspice Dram, Coconut and Pumpkin.
- The Dead Will Walk the Earth has Tequila and Charred Pineapple Tonic.
- Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice! has Aperol, Campari, Spanish Vermouth and Twizzler Soda.
There are a handful of other fun ones, like the red, sweet, smoky and bitter “We All Float Down Here,” named of course after that creepy clown movie everyone’s talking about.
The bar is in Washington, D.C., at the spot formerly known as Mockingbird Hill, Southern Efficiency and Eat the Rich, so if you’re in the area stop by, because it looks like tons of scary fun.Halloween 2017, Halloween bar, Halloween club, Pub Dread, Washington D.C. bar
