If you are a coffee addict and you live in California, you've just hit the proverbial caffeinated jackpot, because several McDonald's restaurants in Northern California are testing three brand spanking new McCafe espresso-based drinks.

Are you listening, residents of Sacramento, Stockton and Modesto?

Per Brand Eating, the three new flavors (which all sound droolworthy) will expand McDonald's drink menu to sync with what Starbucks and Dunkin' Donuts are offering in the espresso-drink category.

First is the Caramel Macchiato (available hot or iced), which is an espresso that is flavored with caramel syrup, and then layered with steamed, cozy milk and a drizzle of gooey and sweet caramel.

Next is the French Vanilla Cappuccino, which will feature, once again, espresso and steamed milk. The beverage is then flavored with vanilla syrup and finished off with a thick and creamy layer of foam.

Finally, the Americano is a take on the classic. It features espresso with the addition of some hot water. This is for the coffee lovers who aren't playing around -- they just want a blast of caffeine and to be on their way.

All of the restaurants that are offering the three new drinks have new and fancy espresso machines that are purportedly even better at steaming milk than their predecessors, which is pretty upscale for a fast food chain. Additionally, the new machines will aim to improve all of the McCafe beverages, which means even if you don't want one of the new flavors, your McCafe latte, mocha and hot chocolate orders should be tasting extra great.

By the way, here's one more perk: During the week of March 20-26, 2017, restaurants that are participating in the test are going to offer a $1 small cup of any of the new drinks to paying customers.

Are you excited to try any of these new beverages? And do you hope they're a hit, so that your local McCafe upgrades its machines and starts serving a wider array of caffeinated creations as well?
