Care To Sip On Unicorn Tears Gin? (Photo)

If you’re a fan of all of the beautiful and trendy unicorn-inspired foods, you’ll love the new Unicorn Tears Gin Liqueur by Firebox. Why shouldn’t there be a unicorn version of gin? We have unicorn-themed everything else.
According to Popsugar, Firebox sells its 16-ounce bottle of fanciful gin for $50. Hey, it’s not easy to collect rare unicorn tears! Firebox describes this gin as “a mythical spirit made from the tears of humanely raised unicorns.” It’s good to know that they aren’t caged up like laying hens, you know? That would really put a damper on things.
It’s also been reported that the unicorn tears are made by feeding the “beautiful beasts entire wheelbarrows of citrus fruit, oranges, juniper berries, bunches of coriander and sticks of liquorice.” This entire wheelbarrow of lovely flavors is fed to the unicorns, and voila, the tears begin to flow. It’s like magic!
Firebox reports that the concoction is made in a secret location, using the free-range unicorn herd. It features a “sublime glittery finish,” and embodies “the magical power of this fabled beast.” The appearance of the gin is the best part, as far as I can tell. Of course, I haven’t had a chance to taste the gin since it’s only available in the U.K., but it has an iridescent pinkish, glittery hue that’s actually very appealing. If you can get your hands on a bottle, they suggest that you swirl it before beholding “its shimmering majesty” and consuming the mythical spirit.
This fun new gin is 40 percent alcohol, and it’s even vegan. If you are one of the lucky unicorn fans who get to enjoy the mystical, glittery spirit of the drink, you’ve got to try the recipe for Cosmopolicorn. It would almost be a sin not to. Here’s the recipe from Firebox:
- Add 1 shot (50 ml) Unicorn Tears Gin Liqueur
- Add 1 shot triple sec
- Add 1/2 ounce lime juice
- Add 1/2 ounce cranberry juice
- Shake and strain into a cocktail glass
- Garnish with lime
And please, for the love of unicorns, let those of us drooling over it from here in the U.S. know how it tastes!Firebox, gin, Unicorn Tears, Unicorn Tears Gin Liqueur
