Bar Sets The Record For Largest Daiquiri (Photos)

What is the biggest drink you’ve ever had?
Not to question your drinking prowess or anything, but we’re guessing it pales in comparison to this roughly 100-gallon daiquiri that Cleveland’s Porco Lounge whipped up on Nov. 11.

Are you jealous yet?
After 80 bottles of Appleton Estate rum, four mixologists, four barbacks, an army’s worth of 1.5-gallon Vitamix blenders, an ungodly amount of simple syrup and more limes than anybody can count, the Porco Lounge team assembled a daiquiri that is more than 30 gallons bigger than the previous record holder’s 71 gallons, dumped the whole thing into a giant tiki cup and garnished it with an actual full-sized umbrella for the sake of novelty and accuracy, according to Cleveland.com.

“It’s a big deal for us,” Porco bartender Jordan Anderson told Cleveland.com. “We’ve been all across the United States and the Internet, we might as well make it a world thing.”
It’s pretty clear how they made the dang thing, but how exactly does one go about breaking a boozy record like that? Google, apparently. Anderson and another Porco bartender, Dan Watson, started researching all the world records held by cocktails and found that the “World’s largest Daiquiri” was made in 2012 at the El Floridita bar in Old Havana, Cuba, as verified by the World Record Academy.
Once they made a plan, the duo got in touch with Campari USA/Appleton Estate Rum and Vitamix blenders and got everything set up to debut the cocktail of your dreams at the Fabulous Food Show Cleveland exhibition.
“Hours have been spent poring over the numbers to make sure a consistent, quality product is achieved from the first cocktail to the last,” Porco owner Stefan Was explained.
We don’t mean to be that guy, because we are super proud of the Porco bartenders, who we feel just get us, but we can’t help but point out that the largest cocktail ever recorded — according to Guinness World Records — is a 10,499-gallon margarita made in a giant cocktail shaker by Nick Nicora, in Sacramento, California, in 2012.
We’d gladly take either one though, honestly.daiquiri, largest daiquiri, Porcos, world record cocktail, world's largest cocktail
