A Buffalo Latte Sounds Gross And Intriguing (Photo)

While Starbucks and Dunkin’ Donuts craft their next “maple-bacon-pumpkin-spice-cinnamon-caramel” beverage concoctions to best encapsulate the fall season — Tim Hortons is going left field, combining Tim Hortons coffee with zesty Buffalo seasoning.
Priced at $2.79, the Buffalo Lattes are made from freshly brewed espresso, steamed milk, mocha, and Buffalo sauce flavor all topped with whipped cream and a dusting of zesty Buffalo seasoning.
There is a method to this madness. Stephen Goldstein, Tim Hortons U.S. regional president, said in a statement that both Tim Hortons and Buffalo sauce were both born in 1964, so why not combine the two?
And as for taste, the Buffalo latte gets a sure thumbs-up. Goldstein said the odd sweet mocha and tangy buffalo sauce create an unexpectedly delicious sweet and spicy treat.
Variety is the spice of life, is it not? One Instagram user posted their Buffalo latte to ring in the new season: “Fall vibes in Buffalo means new Buffalo flavored Lattes and a brand new espresso menu.” It looks good and has a few people rethinking their morning coffee (this writer included).
Buffalo, New York, residents will be the first ones to try Buffalo Lattes, which are set to expand into other U.S. cities through the end of 2017. But for now, the lattes are available exclusively at two upstate New York locations on Transit Road in Depew and Main Street in Buffalo, while supplies last.
For those who want little to do with zesty lattes, there are plenty of your run-of-the-mill offerings at Tim Hortons: the perennial pumpkin spice, caramel, vanilla and mocha.
A Buffalo Latte may not be in our usual coffee repertoire, but for the Canada-based fast-food company, oddities are commonplace; they are quite the wild card.
Adage pointed out that just last week Tim Hortons announced its new espresso lineup with a “FOAMO” promotion: guests show a receipt for a coffee from another restaurant, in exchange for a $1 Tim Hortons latte of their choice. Tim Hortons’ play on FOMO is the fear of missing out on the foam of a Tim Hortons coffee.Buffalo spice coffee, Tim Horton's Buffalo Latte
