Nashville Hot Chicken

If Nashville is known for anything, it’s the honky tonking, live music, and hot chicken. Hot chicken is an art in this southern state and although chicken might be just chicken, the breading and the spices that blanket the meat makes or break the dish. Some people travel to Nashville and wait for hours in line at popular fried chicken joints (hello Hattie B’s) just to get their hands on the renown hot chicken. However, with this recipe, we’re saving the hassle of traveling and allowing ourselves to enjoy similarly juicy and spicy hot chicken in the comfort of our own homes.

So what’s the secret behind this mouth watering fried chicken? Cayenne pepper. Just hearing those two words make our mouths salivate – the heat it brings just packs so much power and satisfying pain! Luckily, Nashville fried chicken is typically paired with a piece of toast to soak up the spice and tart pickles to balance it all out.
