Cheesecake Egg Rolls
By Jenny Pham
Let’s talk about Cheesecake Egg Rolls. Usually these terms are not used in the same sentence but we’re getting inventive here. Egg rolls, which are traditionally filled with meats/veggies and fried to crisp perfection, have evolved over the years to contain a variety of fillings. From savory substitutes like tofu and avocado to sweet options like banana nutella or cookie dough, the possibilities have become endless!
This recipe steers towards the sweet route and substitutes in a creamy cheesecake and chocolate filling. Simply make the cheesecake filling, pipe a small amount onto an egg roll wrapper, sprinkle chocolate chips on top, and roll it up!
Usually cheesecake is served chilled but these cheesecake egg rolls are meant to be served fresh out of the fryer so that the filling is oozing cream cheese and chocolate when you bite into it. To step it up a notch, pair these with vanilla ice cream and you’ve got yourself a well-deserved treat!
