Ben & Jerry’s and Netflix Launch New “Space Force”-Themed Ice Cream Flavor
By Cooking Panda
Need a relaxing recipe for winding down? TV watching while enjoying a pint of delicious ice cream does the trick. Ben & Jerry’s and Netflix have teamed up to complete your latest binge-watch with Ben & Jerry’s new Boots on the Moooo’n flavor.
This latest limited-edition flavor is inspired by Netflix’s upcoming and highly anticipated space comedy Space Force, starring Steve Carell. Ingredients include milk chocolate ice cream, cookie dough pieces, “fudge cows” (that’s cow-shaped fudge), and “toffee meteor clusters.” It sounds like something we would definitely want orbiting our tastebuds!
Ben & Jerry’s and Netflix launched the Space Force-inspired flavor quite literally. Using a homemade contraption and lots of helium, they sent the new pint 20 miles into the air while capturing it all on video. Space Force premiers May 29 on Netflix and also stars John Malkovich, Lisa Kudrow, Ben Schwartz, and Jimmy O. Yang.
This is the third Netflix original flavor Ben & Jerry’s has released. Earlier this year, they dropped their special Netflix & Chill’d flavor, a peanut butter ice cream that pairs fudge brownies with pretzel swirls. There’s also a Nailed It!-themed flavor, Chip Happens, which combines fudge chips with potato chips.
According to Ben & Jerry’s, Boots on the Moooo’n is available in limited batches at supermarkets and retails at around $4.99. The flavor will also be in participating Ben & Jerry’s shops over the next few months as they start to reopen. With Ben & Jerry’s distribution spanning 35 countries and Netflix’s over 182.2 million subscribers, this cross-promotional pairing seems to be out of this world!
