• 1 cup cassava, grated
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 cups water
  • 1/2 cup coconut, grated
  • 1/4 tsp lye water
  • 1/4 tsp buko pandan essence



Step 1 – Combine the cassava with water and sugar listed above into a mixing bowl. After adding all of the ingredients, mix well.

Step 2 – Add lye water and continue stirring the mixture.

step 3 – Add the buko pandan essence and mix

Step 4 – Make sure the mixture is evenly divided and then place into put molds.

Step 5 – Place in the steamer

Step 6 – Steam for 45 mins. and check. If color is not clear, leave for another 15 mins.
Step 7 – Let the steamed pichi pichi cool for at least 45 mins. You can place in the refrigerator after letting it cool for 15 mins.

Step 8 – Remove from molds

Step 9 – roll pieces over grated coconut

Step 10 – Serve and enjoy

This recipe will yield 3 pieces and the duration is about 10 hours of cooking time. If you would like more pieces, simply multiply the ingredients that are listed in the beginning of the recipe.
