Miso Soup Recipe
Miso soup is a popular Japanese starter that is incredibly healthy and very easy to make. You can use the basic ingredients to make a light and tasty appetizer, or add soba noodles, cooked chicken, or fresh vegetables to make it a more substantial meal.
Instructions:
Step 1—Pour the water into a medium pot, and bring to a boil
Step 2—Take about 1/4 cup of the water and mix it with the miso paste in a small bowl until it is blended and smooth
Step 3—Pour the miso mixture and dashi granules into the pot of water and simmer, stirring for about 2-3 minutes
Step 4—Stir in the tofu, green onions, and nori
Step 5—Serve hot
Optional Step: If you want to add noodles, meat, or vegetables, you can add them into the pot either before you add the tofu, or simply place the extra ingredients in a bowl and pour the miso soup over top before serving.
This recipe makes 4 servings, and takes about 30 minutes to prepare from start to finish
